How do you shut down scope creep without sounding difficult?

Client: "Can you just add one more page / revision / quick Loom?"

You: already past the hours you quoted.

Curious how others handle this before resentment builds.

What works for me (steal freely):

1. Name the change, not the person. "That's outside the signed scope" lands cleaner than "you're asking for free work."
2. Offer a path, not a no. "Happy to do it as a small change request — here's the fee and ETA."
3. Write it once. Keep a short template so you don't negotiate tone under stress.
4. Put inclusions/exclusions on the quote sheet. Most creep dies when the PDF already said "1 revision round / no extra pages."

What I still struggle with: the friendly client who "just needs a tiny tweak" every Friday.
