I've been running Claude Opus as my primary model for roughly 95% of my work for a while now, and your point #1 — it actually follows all the instructions — is the one I'd lead with for anyone evaluating the switch. It's not a small thing. The implicit cost of "5 of 8 requirements addressed" isn't the missing three; it's the cognitive overhead of having to audit every response to figure out which three got dropped. Opus removes that audit step almost entirely, and the productivity gain compounds across the day.
