Please take a look at
https://dev.to/suntong/grub4dos-to-boot-iso-disk-image-57ho
in which there are three reference entries at the bottom.
However, if I do "Edit" from that page,
the reference will become my first attempt:

Tried many times, including closing it and opening it in a new browser window, but the results are always the same.
What is so special about my this post, or there is a system wise hiccup in dev.to? Thanks

I'm not 100% sure I understand your issue, but I think it might be because we have autosave in the editor. If you check your browser's Local Storage via your console, you should be able to find the data based on the URL. It's a key-value pair, and the key should be something like
editor-v1-https://dev.to/suntong/your-posts-slug
.Not sure if you're familiar with local storage, so feel free to reply if you need help finding it!
Thanks for the answer, which made me realized that my local caching server might be the culprit so I waited several days.
there were three reference entries at the bottom, whenever I did "Edit" from that page, I only saw one. I change to three references again, save and I can see three reference. However, if I edit again, it went back to single reference again. I tried many times, including closing it and opening it in a new browser window, but the results are always the same.
But now, when I reopen the page again, I only see one reference now. All my several attempt of editing efforts are gone.
No I didn't, and tried to follow your instruction, but I didn't get it. Please elaborate.
Thanks
