Nigeria's second edition of GITEX Nigeria starts today.

Beyond Connectivity: The Bridge to Sovereign AI and Innovation.
The event is being held under the patronage of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with support from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy in collaboration with NITDA.
But there's an interesting question behind the theme:
What happens after everyone is connected?
Because getting people online is only step one.
The harder part is building the things that run on top of that infrastructure.
The Abuja Day
31 August is focused on the Government Leadership & AI Summit.

And communities help talent grow.
That's the ecosystem Nigeria needs to strengthen.
GITEX Nigeria 2026 is happening now.
The interesting part will be seeing what Nigerian founders, developers, educators, policymakers and innovators do with the conversations that come out of it.
