Hello! š
I'm new here to dev.to but have been reading it for a while. I'm a web developer and teacher looking to connect with more developers.
Oh - I also love Disney - ask me anything about it!
John Papa
Welcome, John! Excited to have you here, and to read more of your writing.
What's your favorite Disney film of all time?
Original Mary Poppins for live action
Tangled for animated
Star Wars original series - if we are talking all Disney owned :)
Do you know the reason why Communists are obsessed with Tinkerbell and Mushu? :)
Welcome!
I'm using some of my separation pay to take my family to Disney this September. We've booked through a friend who handles everything. All I wanted out of my first experience was to not make decisions. Ha!
We're staying six nights at the Villas in Animal Kingdom, and we are only looking to hit two or three parks instead of rushing around trying to fit it all in. At her recommendation, we're also spending one day just at the resort.
I wasn't immediately excited about the idea. My son will be 2 and a half, so I'm not sure how much of the experiences will be lost on him. My teenager is creeped out by people dressed up as characters. None of us enjoy thrill rides.
Then I decided to take my parents to spend time with their grandkids. Now I'm excited! I've even heard that it's a pretty decent place for beer lovers and foodies in general. Any secrets you want to pass along?
welcome. It is very interesting and well written.
I had a good time.
Hey John š Nice to have you here. Look forward to learning from your articles.
Also Did you by any chance see High School Musical? š
Thanks!
I did. My kids loved it back then
So nice to see you here, John! š
You've always been a great source of information and technique for a lot of developers, I'm looking forward to your articles.
thanks!
Nice to have you here John! Looking forward to your next post!
nice to meet you. I envy you. I will learn a lot from you as a beginner.
What is your favorite Disney ride?
People and site watching :) I like discovering some fo the interesting nooks at Disney
Hello! Former cast member here I as well share the love for Disney, and code! Nice to meet you John!
thanks!
Hey John! š
I was on an angular project some time ago and used your styleguide & examples quite a bit!
Thanks for sharing all that, it was very useful!
Wow, me too.
Am a teacher and web developer (on my way).
Can I ask you about where do you learn web developer?
Thanks
Noemar
I am actually a Mom of a 9 yr old who is passionate about coding. (which is a whole nother language to me)He has bad ADHA and Anxiety and Coding and computers are what he loves. He wants to develop a game. As of right now he has just followed tutorials and made games. I am trying to understand how all this works and hope to get some good information as to how I can help my son and direct him in the right way as to what he should do learn first and what Systems he should play with. He knows a lot but needs something easy to follow and learn. Any help is appreciated.
Hi there! Your son surely is an early starter, kudos to him. I have been doing game development as a hobby for a while now, so feel free to message me if you have any questions.
As a software developer with ADHD who has children with ADHD, big ups to you for trying to help where you can. It can sometimes be hard to find the kind of activities that are stimulating for young children.
I don't know how much advice I can offer in gaming, but I know a thing or two about building websites and the systems involved.
Hey Hoidberg! That's super awesome of you to go above and beyond for your kiddo like this and really try to become a part of the community!
I think a lot of us got into development to build games, I'm glad to see gaming has sparked an interest in programming for another young developer.
While I'm not as well versed in game development specifically, I'm happy to talk about programming and algorithms in general and talk through problems if either of you want to!
Hello there! Welcome to dev.to :)
I would say that I'm an introvert. Definitely spend my weekends at home. Lately been doing a lot of cooking, too!
I also really enjoy cooking and I think the weekends are a great time to explore some larger ideas.
Is there anything in particular that you enjoy cooking lately? Types of food, techniques, something else?
Yeah! I've been working on veggie burgers recently. It's been a real uphill battle for me though. The hard part is getting them to shape properly; mine patty just comes out sticky and hard to fry.
Otherwise it's been a lot of practicing basic knife skills like mincing garlic, slicing onions, and also cutting down meal prep times less. I think I've made pancakes for like three weeks straight, pretty much every other day. Definitely have the recipe memorized and can make it really quickly now!
I spent this past weekend making chickpeas, and I oversalted them. It was a good lesson because through the process I figured out how to desalinize them.
INTROVERT HERE TOO !
My name is James and I was introduced to dev.to by @hamatti and I am looking forward to doing more technical writing and interacting with the community. Recently I have been focused on TypeScript, React, Redux, Functional Programming, a bit of Elm, Electron, Docker and some Python/Flask.
I would consider myself an ambivert. An extravert that needs a fair amount of alone time to site alone, deep in though, processing the world and what has happened, ideally in the middle of the forest in Finland or an island, or wherever I can find some silence from the noise.
Recently I have been interested in early programming languages such as Fortran and Lisp and using modern tools like Docker to use them. Fun fact: my mom taught me to program in Basic in 2nd grade on an Atari 600XL.
Welcome to the community, James!
I, too, began with Basic, and while I rarely gave them a reason, I was always happy to GOTO my room if I was getting in their hair.
Dad jokes for days. Coder dad jokes. I'm sorry.
It seems like a lot of culture can be found and discovered when learning about the founding tech and languages that I might check out. Very neat.
Hello, people!
I'm a brazilian software engineer, focused in frontend web development using JavaScript, React, PWAs and more.
I use React Native and like to talk about open source, communities and career in software development area.
I just published my book about career in software development in last year (pt-br here), I have a YouTube channel for beginners in software development ("O Universo da ProgramaĆ§Ć£o") and a blog to share my knowledge, what I learn and more.
Follow-me here and in Twitter. <3
Hello there!
My name is Robert and I've been looking for a place to share my concepts and ideas.
I'm a software developer for 20+ years but a total newbie in modern social media (no fb account!). Definitely an introvert ...
Thanks :)
Hello, world ^^..
It's Alaa Yacoub from Benghazi/Libya.
I was looking for my passion and I found it in programming.
I went to a few boot camps some of them was online camps ..
I was reading a tweet talking about Kotlin which was linked to Dev so I end up here looking for more articles.
Hmmm... My friends say that I'm extrovert.
Morning all, if your in my timezone, otherwise good afternoon and good evening. I saw the link to Dev.to from a twitter post. I have been working on securing a REST API server with loopback and jwt. Initially really liking the API generation loopback provides. The loopback explorer is very cool. Other then that I am passionate about all thing's webdev. Definitely extrovert. Happy coding! <`)))>{
Hello fellow programmers,
My name is Roshan and I am a graduate student studying Computer Science in NYC. I am interested in developing mobile and desktop applications, and ensuring they operate optimally. I have noticed this website coming up in my Google feed for the last couple of months and posts are always interesting and exciting. I figured it would be best to become a part of the community. I hope to learn from everyone here and contribute as much as I can.
Hello Everyone! /> I'am Front-End Web Developer Backed with PHP for backed (Self-taught: Just graduated High-School) and my first query is: How big is the Dev.to Community? Does it have local communities?
Hey hey!
Long time reader, first time joiner :)
I live in Sydney, Australia. Most my days start with a surf/swim in the pacific ocean! š
I work at Thinkmill.
Looking forward to reading more great content in here, and hopefully producing some too!
Welcome to the community Simon! š Definitely jealous that you get to start the day šāāļø
Yeah, it's a pretty good life hack.
Being born in landlocked Switzerland, I had to work to make it happen š
Hello!
I am excited to join the dev.to community! I am a Python enthusiast looking to take a hobby and transition towards a new career. I am currently reading Python Crash Course and working on a port of the classic 2D game Galaga. I'm looking to move past the tutorial stage and start building things!
It seems that lately everybody is jumping Medium's ship. Dev.to seems like a good alternative. I have been aware of this website for a while but did not pay much attention to it. Today @dabit3 tweeted that he published a new post on dev.to, so here I'm. Check out his post about Cloud Programming, it's very intersting.
Hi, I spend a lot of my work time with clients and business development but am also the main technical resource at the company.
I use Python mostly, and some Javascript (when I get a chance to code) within the GIS space. I also do a lot of SQL, database design, etc. I am always learning, and currently struggling with the question of: do I try to be a programmer, or a project manager first?
Hi All,
My name is Brian and I enjoy building tools/utilities that help make things easier to do. I'm a complete noob to dev.to but looking forward to getting more familiar with it and you all. Any resources you recommend or people to follow?
Brian Clark
Welcome brain, Nice to have you here š
Thank you Saurabh š
Hello,
I am very new to the field, have taught myself web development and now after becoming a front end developer i am attending a bootcamp to acquire more knowledge and skills in the back end part so i would be able to work as a fullstack.
I have read in this discussion about people working on some interesting projects. I say good luck, and good job.
Thanks you too
Hello, Friends :) I just posted my first post on dev.to, so I figured I'd come by and say hi! I'm Hiro, and I'm a SysAdmin in NYC by day, and a Cloud Computing Technical Instructor by night!
I founded and run awsnewbies.com to help others like me without technical backgrounds (I have degrees in Special Education!) learn about Cloud Computing and AWS. I also just finished working on a video course on Lynda.com that introduced AWS to non-engineers, which published a few days ago.
I'm working to help make tech accessible to all, and can't wait to keep on diving deeper into all of these communities! And I'm a definite introvert who likes small doses of socialization... And then hermit for another few days to "detox." Haha.
Hey there!
My nameās Steve (hiiiii Steeeeeve) and in addition to spending the last 15 years (give or take) working in web/software development, I am also a father of two, a sixth-generation California native, a Certified Sommelier, and a sports fan (especially baseball, but I kinda like āem all).
I like to work my hobbies into my side projects, so Iām currently working on a system that attempts to predict the outcome of the entire 2019 MLB regular season, using past data, future player performance projections, and Monte Carlo simulations. Nerdy and fun!
If you got a 100% working MLB model, hit me up, I'd like to make some easy cash. lol
Check out thomeprojections.com ... look at the Vegas Number Confidences page. And the 2018 link. The system nailed 20 out of 30 team totals o/u wagers for the 2018 season.
Fun! Didn't we just hire those guys for the O's? You know ā¦ those guys.
Welcome!
Hi All!
I'm brand new to dev.to and also to the tech community. I'm currently a student at Flatiron School in Seattle going through an immersive program to become a Full Stack developer! I hope to use this site as an opportunity to learn from others, but also to document my learnings along my journey! Excited to get started :)
Hello Everyone, I'm Kells. I'm new here, looking forward to continue reading helpful articles, connecting with amazing Devs and also sharing my little knowledge with the community.
I just got my first Job as a developer so I'm pretty excited about it yayyš!!
Hi, @kellswork . Congratulation on getting your first job. (I also got my first job recently).
Thank you Saurabh ,Congratulations to you too. Hope you're enjoying the new job
š
Hie. I'm a computer science student finally learning to actually code stuff in her second year and not just have the ability to pass her exams. Lol. I'm currently trying to figure out how to fit all the different things I learn into an actual program. I couldn't make headway at first because I made almost everything an object and my implementation of class inheritance is one of the craziest things ever š
Welcome to the community, Mozbie!
Hey there, everyone!
I just stumbled upon this site today and found some really interesting reads.
Currently I am a software development trainee in my first training year. In my spare time I'm an avid role player and even run my own LARP group nearby.
I hope to find a place to learn, share and discuss experiences and the occasional odd idea.

Hello everyone. So Google has landed me here on a number of occasions and I had no idea its such a great community. Today I was comparing Zeit Now and Netlify and found a cool thread here.
I'm a Web developer and designer, though still budding, and I am glad to join you good people. š„
Hello Good people,
i am very much happy to be here because i have this believe that it's going to be one of the most interesting thing and and a new learning platform for me. i'm a newbie in React and would love to dive deep in and it and probably extend to full stack programming.
Thank you all
Hi there,
I look forward to getting to learn more on dev.to! I'm an avid reader and love to keep up with the latest and greatest tech and standards. Looking forward to adding my knowledge to the vast pool of the interwebz and hoping to learn even more in the process!
Happy coding!
it was time for a change and i've wanted to learn anything that has to do with information treatment/processing and go from there.
I'm giving myself a year or so to get somewhere where I can build something functional and useful, hopefully less.
I was looking for a legit kind of technical interview that advanced candidate's possibilities to escape from this experience with their id in tact, and they're having a positive experience with the person chosen to do the technical interview.
I've joined far too many of these forum-like sites, so my intro post may very well be my outro post. That said, I strive to get out there in the community better so here goes!
I'm Alex. I'm a full-stack software engineer based in London. I've worked across multiple languages and paradigms, but what I'm most interested in right now is how you do the minimum code to get the maximum value. Very much of the philosophy 'Make it work; make it right; make it fast.', after a few years trying to make it right before it works, hah! Clean Code and The Clean Coder are my favourite dev books, though I'm always interested in improving my craft.
I've talked a few times around London and hope to become a world famous functional programmer. Unfortunately, things never change on the functional programming scene.
Hello world,
Found out about dev.to a couple of days back via Twitter. Love the idea of the free community.

Hello,
I read one article on this site and find it that this site is very helpful for connecting with developers. I am on the begging of learning how to code. Wish me luck and hope to meet new people.
Hello!š
I'm happy to be a member of this wonderful community, I am a web developer focusing on Nodejs, and everything JavaScript. Am using this platform to connect and share with other developers.

I feel Dev.to is a great platform to share your views and ideas. I've been following it for quite sometime and find it very educative. I must mentoin recent write up by Tamas Todor on book "Atomic Habits" (author : James Clear). It is an excellent piece. Must read for anyone wishing to improve his habits.
Hi everybody, I'm a Python developer and Blog writer. Here is my blog: pythonscouts.cubava.cu/. I have written for realpython.com too. I hope to have a good time on this community.
Thanks,

Hello there!
My name is Shahid. I am an Android Developer who happens to have few apps on PlayStore. Lately, I've found myself trying to learn more with respect to web development and all I can say it's very interesting and vast.
I just finished my Node course online and would love you guys to help me out with project ideas that I should start with to practice node.
Hope you having a great day!
Thanks :)
Hey everyone! I'm Ian, and I've just found out about dev.to !!
Looking forward to getting to know you all and getting involved in the community!!
I'm currently writing a lot of .net core 2.2 Web APIs and Azure specific code like Functions.
Welcome!!
Hello everyone!
I've discovered DEV not too long ago and I think its time to introduce myself!
I'm really new to programming (I graduated from a web dev bootcamp this past November - MERN stack) and so, I still have a lot to learn!
Other than that, I'm doing a math's degree part-time, I ove reading fantasy & historical books and I'm a huge fan of animation movies and anime :P
Nice to meet you all!
Hey everyone! I'm Kerry from Boston and I'm completely new to the field of web development. I'm a career changer and a student at Bloc bootcamp. I am currently learning React and just finished building my first React music player app.
Oh, and I am a total introvert! :) How about everyone else?
Hey guys,
I am Sangho, professionally I build web applications using a low code platform called Appian. I was brought here by my Google feed š.
I love learning new technologies. Currently am learning Android and Algorithms from the MIT opencourware.
I look forward to reading about new technologies and writing articles about my experiences as a software engineer.
Hey Dev Community, I am Zubair Mohsin. Currently working as Software Engineer at i2c Inc in Cloud Management department. My heart still goes to full time Web Development. I do part time freelance Web Development. Mainly focused on building Shopify Apps with Laravel. Its Fun!
My intentions are to start writing here. Wish me luck to start writing.
Thanks.
Hey everyone! š
I'm new here, but not new to development. I'm a former "full stack" developer turned UI engineer. I specialize in React, I know, not very unique š. I was very into personal branding and great at networking for awhile, then had kids, went through some burnout, and have had a hard time getting back into the swing of networking. This looks like a fun community, and I'm looking forward to checking it out more and hopefully sharing here as well as on my blog.
In my spare time I've been into tinkering with synthesizers (especially with the open source VCV Rack software-based modular synth); I'm not great at making music, but love playing with all the different sounds you can make by modifying an electrical signal.
In answer to the question above, I used to consider myself an extravert, but I've since learned I'm actually an introvert and need to take time to myself often otherwise I will burn out.
Hi everyone! I noticed the code base for this website on GitHub and thought I'd head over and take a look. Seems like a great place for developers to share their knowledge and experiences. I'm happy to be here and I'm looking forward to reading and listening to all the great information being shared here.
Hey y'all...
I'm a self-taught hack of sorts. I like to call myself a shady tree developer. When I want to learn something, I seek out knowledge. Started out learning early classic asp then moved on to dotnet all the way to Obj-c and Swift, I kicked myself in the butt to learn it.
I will probably get some terminology wrong (like variadic...) but I won't take offense if you correct me. That's part of learning.
My career has me in a dotnet world and also Netsuite which is why most of my (or all) stuff os focused in Netsuite. Not a lot of info so I want to help others.
Hi there,
Random front end developer here, the question of: "is there a platform where i can post some code snippets that can be discussed and improved on" is basically what brought me here. Hopefully it will be able to do that. I think stackoverflow is focused too much on answering questions, but a lot of times you just want to discuss approaches.
Hi there!
I'm DevOops engineer from Ukraine working mainly with AWS cloud.
And after reading comments below - yeah, I'm an Introvert too :-D
So usually spending my weekends by setuping-learning something new and writing some stuff in my blog.
I'm not really "new" on the Dev.to - but always was just a reader.
From now - I'll try to share some useful (hope so :-) ) topics here from myself too.
Hey,
I'm new to dev.to but love it so far. My major is fixing things that are broken on a site but I want to get into web development. Currently learning JavaScript deeply and trying to understand it. Using Kyle Simpsons book series and love it so far.

Hello,
I am new here. I seen someone share this app on twitter, figured I would give it a try. I am currently studying Web development at Lambda School. So far so good. I love it. I am also and Entrepreneur. Anyone on here is free to follow me.
Hi All,
I am a Test Automation guy, with a nack for learning new things to make life easier
I am here to learn and more importantly connect with like minded people to talk and chat all things tech.
I am definitely an Extrovert with many introvert tendencies
Heyyyy! š
I am new here, came here by the React's community page.
I love reptiles especially tortoises.
Been doing my internship lately with React. That's from me, love to know you more.

Hello all,
It's nice to be part of you guys. I am a frontend dev and javascript enthusiast. I looking forward to learning from you guys and also to share my own experience. I also love solving puzzles and tricky quizzes too. You can shoot me one anytime.
Peace...
Hey people. I discover DEV from its posts and I discover that the best way to learn about code is to write and teach about it, so why not here:)? I am in a career change so something about hospitality or business or code I am here to learn and to share my ideas
Hell everyone! I'm so excited to find a very useful education resource on the internet! Hopefully I know I gonna learn programming and other stuff here easily.

Hello there šš»āāļø
I am Charae, a Computer Science student in Malacca, Malaysia. The main reason I'm here is I wanna get the cool DEV badge šš. That aside, I am looking to learn from you guys and contribute to this community.
Howdy š¤
I am starting to work on connecting to the online dev community more and that includes tweeting and blogging more. I'll be posting to my website and cross-posting here.
I'm currently learning Typescript and GraphQL for work. I'm still not 100% sold on Typescript, but I guess I'll see the benefits eventually. GraphQL is awesome!
I would say I'm an extroverted-introvert - energized by alone time, but like talking to people and hanging out in small groups.
I look forward to connecting š
Hi, my name is Mike, and I'm actually an infrastructure analyst by trade (Windows servers specifically.) But my favorite part of my job is scripting, and I love any opportunity to write code. I've dabbled in Python and JavaScript, and I'm getting serious now about mastering the MEAN stack. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here!
Hey Everyone!
I'm Bastion, a frontend developer that works mostly in React at this point, but I try to keep a wide breadth of experience and interest in new technologies.
I stumbled across dev.to when I was looking for a good blogging platform to get better at technical writing and keep a pulse on up and coming ideas and technologies.
For fun facts, I'm also a competitive West Coast Swing dancer! I travel all around the US dancing and teaching when I'm not busy programming!
Hello there!
Hope you are having a great day so far. dev.to is amazing!
I'm new here but hopefully, I can contribute soon enough with great posts, I'm a YouTuber(new one too), I love to share what I learn with others: first TO HELP OTHERS, SECOND TO LEARN BETTER :D
I love to develop android apps but also cool websites...

hello, I'm new here. so I was kinda at a standstill in my learning process and was searching random stuff on the internet on how to go be inspired. lol. in doing so I found this post where dev.to was mentioned and I thought I'd try it out. I have been reading the posts and its for sure everything I hoped for and even more. I hope to make meaningful relationships and hopefully find a mentor that will lead me closer to my dreams in code!
Hello! Just discovered dev.to (rabbit trail from RealPython newsletter to Ali Spittle's blog to here) I manage a large government org in my day job (no coding!), long time hobbyist coder in my [limited] free time. Long time perl hacker but my recent crush is Python...I've enjoyed really enjoyed learning Python over the last few months. Learning as much as I can about DevOps & related tech stacks for work.
Heyo! šš¾
New here, I'm a Software Engineer currently working with JS (Node & React).
Still waiting for the jury to come in on Hooks before I re-write my entire application šš

Hi I'm Yosun - I've been building 3D AR VR apps using Unity C#, OpenCV, Vuforia, and more for the past 10+ years. I win a lot of hackathons. (I am also full stack LAMP - shows my age. Also versed in 3D/graphics software from Autodesk to Adobe etc.) I just started Patreon.com/yosun ... I'm definitely an introvert, trying what I can to connect with more people online thought!
Hey Everyone!
I've loved the quality of dev.to for a while, and finally made an account! Looking forward to hanging out with yall š
I'm starting to work on an open-source version of freeter.io - let me know anyone here remembers the product or is interested!

Hello, humans!
Just joined Dev.to! I have been breaking server-side systems with Node.js and messing up prod in AWS. Occasionally, I give talks and host meetups (I mean, when I am not debugging generators) and bug GitHub repo owners with bugs and PR's.
And I write poetry and experiment with electronics.
Wubba lubba dub dub! (I am obsessed with Rick and Morty. Sorry.)
Hello,
Recently started going to school for Computer Science and currently learning about python. I read some interesting articles on dev.to and decided to sign up :)
Hi, I'm Alex, been reading dev.to for a while and now it's time to get involved.
I'm going to be writing a lot of stuff about mental health and productivity (and how to combine the two!), just like I've done here: dev.to/ocdalex/five-productivity-t...
Hello everyone!
Definitely an introvert. Love football (soccer that is š) & rock music.
Someone on Twitter recently mentioned, "...posting on dev.to beats Medium any day" - which basically brought me here š.
Hello!
I am Olumide, I just joined the awesome community though not new to Dev.to, I learned lots of stuff here and hopefully, I can contribute my part to the helpful articles and posts in the community.
I enjoy working with JS/Node, Python and recently Rust, I look forward to learning and connecting with the community.
Fun stuff for me is watching animation and playing soccer, also I am an Ambivert.
I've been following Dev.To on twitter and liked the discussions and suggestions. I write code - designation and languages keep changing though :-). Hope to add to the platform and learn more.
I'm not good at writing articles/blogs (introvert), hope to get feedback to improve myself.
Hiya!
My name is Shaquille and i can say Iām self taught all around...including my time taking CS classes š . Trying to find my way into the career while continually building my skills and knowledge. Fully engulfed in Vue and Django at the moment. Aiming to master the two with some projects Iām writing up. Letās see how this goes š¤š¾
Hi everyone. Chukwuebuka Iwezor here.
Well I recently developed an interest in computer science and every field of it. I'm completely a beginner and no prior knowledge of coding and programming languages.
Where do I place myself here?
Hi everyone!
I have joined in order to be able to collaborate with the community and also share my vision of development practices. I have a focus on C++ but I'm open to other technologies, I have been learning Kotlin recently.
Give me a heart if you like board games such as Settlers of Catan!

Hi. I am a shy person living in Korea. I have been a musician for almost 20 years. My scholastic ability is high school dropout. In my opinion, what you can do in Korea is nothing but developers, day laborers. I liked to create something very slowly since I was young. I want to learn slowly but slowly and get acquainted with people. My name is Kim Sarang. Sarang means love in Korean.
Love it. Let's love. :)
Hello everyone. I'm Jason and I'm new to the community and thought I would introduce myself. I have been trying to break into the world of programming via Javascript without much luck. I seem to get stuck into an infinite loop of tutorial hell, udemy and other courses without making huge progress. I'm trying, that's for sure and will NOT give up because that is too easy and that's not me. Please don't get me wrong, I'm making strides just not the ones I was hoping for. Anyway, thank you for listening and your thoughts and comments are appreciated.
Hey everyone!
I'm definitely an introvert, I came here cause I saw a lot of tech people I follow on Twitter using dev.to, and I was also hoping to share some of my blog posts :).
Read and implemented some of the ideas in Jochem Stoel's "V8Ception". Had some questions so came here, joined and asked.
Was strongly introverted then was persuaded to become a Christian. Jesus has since taught me, through his word and Spirit, how to be more extroverted. Is there a word for what lies between the extremes of intro- and extro-?
Hi everyone!
I've just found out this site. It's amazing and its articles are helping me a lot to improve my skills. Currently, I'm finishing my B.E. in Computer Science and I'm looking for work opportunities abroad (I live in Mexico).
Hello, I'm happy to be here at dev.to.
I just learned about this site, and it looks like a pretty great place for developers to connect. I'm a full stack developer and teacher.
Most people who know me would probably guess that I am an extrovert because I am usually leading a discussion or class of some sort, but I think that I am in reality an introvert because I usually prefer having time to myself.
I just started getting into fine woodworking, it's a great way to get away from the computer for a bit and to relax.
Gregor
Hi there! I've been reading dev.to in the shadows for a while now, finally registered. Mainly because I am starting to try out some webdev instead of my usual C coding.
I figured this would encourage me to write a bit more, something I want to do this 2019.
Hello everyone!
My name is Max and I've been reading a lot of articles on dev.to the last month.
I'm writing my Bachelor thesis atm and after that I will be a Software Developer in Germany. In my free time I am currently developing a Smarthome with c#, flutter and Vue and participate in Game Jams :P
And I'm looking to connect to more devs out there and get more enolved with the whole community .
Max and nice to meet you all :)
Hi,
I encountered dev.to on Twitter a while ago and I've read some useful blog posts so far. Recently, I've been working on some blog posts regarding dev-related topics myself and thought it would be useful to also share them here.
Currently, I'm a PhD student at Ghent University and working on topics related to the Semantic Web and Linked Data. Practically, I mostly work with JavaScript and Java, both client and server side. So if you have questions regarding those topics, don't hesitate to ask!
Cheers
Pieter
Hey there! I'm Ayoub. I'm a Data Engineer and I work mainly on massive data sets trying to get sense out of them, structure data and process streams of data always faster. I work with technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop on distributions like Cloudera and Hortonworks. I'm now initiating myself to AWS services.
I love functional programming and I've been coding in Scala for the last 3 years.
Finally, I also give trainings (in corporations) and courses in two universities here in Paris.
This platform is awesome and I'm willing to write posts as well as learning from others'.
Cheers!
Hey all!
I was introduced to dev.to by my Google feed. After popping up enough times I finally decided it was time to join the conversation.
I'm an internet taught full stack Enterprise developer. Lately I've been spending a lot of time with docker, Angular, and various Sprung Framework technologies. Looking to start getting into desktop app development in the very near future.
Extrovert all the way, and excited to join the party.
Hi šš»
I'm Rahul. I decided to sign up for DEV today after reading articles on it for a long time, especially by Emma Wedekind.
Professionally I'm an Android Engineer, but I do love making apps on iOS and Web in my free time. Currently, I'm working on a new publishing platform called Airtyper as a side project. š
Oh yeah, I'm crazy about GIFs. š
Greetings!
Stumbled on site and thought it was interesting enough to join:) Exploring UX Design & Front End Developing fields. Any thoughts on best tech. fields for someone that's an Artist? (more interested in creating the Aesthetics aspect in technology).
International Studies Student. Psychology Student. Iāve been learning web development for a bit under a year now, and recently decided to incorporate it into my Capstone/Thesis acknowledging that much of the tech today derived from English. I will be researching about discrepancies and conflicts that arise when using technology when English is not your first language. I am an extrovert if I wake up nicely.
Hi. My name is Richard. I came here after watching the GoRuCo talk on confreaks. Iāve been working in startups since I came to Silicon Valley from my native UK, 20 years ago this year. Iām an extrovert when Iām filling in marketing/bizdev/sales roles and I turn more introverted when Iām writing code every day. Itās kinda funny like that.
I mostly work in Ruby because Iāve loved it for a decade and coding in Ruby brought me back to programming after about ten years leading go to market efforts.
I first learned to program the old fashioned way - via English re-translations of Chinese translations of pirated Apple manuals on my Apple II as a kid in Hong Kong in the 80s - a computer I still own!
Hello šš½
I am a Software Engineer who has been reading post here for months and now I have become a member to also share my ideas with you.
I am here to share and learn about software development but in case you want to talk about TV shows or podcasts, I would love to discuss with you.
Hi everyone, I'm really into digital bookmarking and media analysis in my free time, and I work on a product team for a data visualization product. I'm hoping to post about a mixture of all of those interests on here, and I'm excited to learn from the community!
PS: I consider myself to be a personable introvert š
Hi,
Am Umoren Samuel and I found this community through Twitter. I am a Computer Engineering Undergraduate and a JavaScript newbie.
I'm a pseudo-introvert and spend quiet time imagining crazy things that would not happen in the future.
Hi, everyone!
My name is Abraham LĆ³pez and I'm a 24 y/o Software Engineer from and located in Guadalajara, MĆ©xico. My main focus is set Front End development, but I also enjoy playing around the Back End. I feel very comfortable working with JavaScript and its frameworks and libraries. Currently I'm part of the technical team of a local startup called 100 Ladrillos. Our stack is mostly Ruby + Rails and some JS. Iām in charge of the migration of our legacy Rails webapp into a full JS application using React alongside other tools under a micro frontend strategy.
Thank you!

Hello,
I came across a post from dev.to in our company's random slack channel. After reading the post I wanted to learn more about the community and I signed up.
I am currently into javascript, React/Redux, node. Learning new stuff excites me. Apart from coding I also run long distance.
I would say I am somewhat of an ambivert.
Hi everyone! I am Pau and I'm a C++ software engineer (and I've been working with Kotlin the last few weeks). Google Now has shown me different articles of my interest recently, so finally I signed up and joined some discussion!
Hopefully I'll post something around here soon, I have some things I would like to share with the community!
Hello everyone. I'm an engineering graduate(electrical and electronics) looking to make a transition into the world of web development and make a career out of it(at first I was just curious but now I love it). I'm currently focused on front-end web development, and building beautiful, seamless user interfaces. I have no experience whatsoever as the only projects I've worked on are the ones found in code-along articles and online tutorials. However, I'm 'starting at a start-up' (place chuckle here) as an intern next week and hope to get my hands dirty on some real projects real soon(throw some my way if you can, thanks). I've been learning react for about three weeks now, it's been intellectually rewarding. My biggest challenge so far is learning to think like a programmer and a designer, I know I'm just starting and can't rush the process but urgh! It gets frustrating just knowing syntax and not knowing how to logically think through problems properly. Happy to be here though, and I hope to grow into a proficient, reliable, developer!š„šŖšš
I love sword-and-magic epic novels, sponge cakes, dark chocolate, and an unhealthy amount of bread.

Hi I'm Tumi ...
I like programming, and so inevitably I ended up here. I love to write, and that's how I actually got into programming.
I see people writing about weekend stuff in their welcome threads, I should probably start having something to write about from my weekends
Hi everyone !

Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I found out about this website after reading one of the blog posts on twitter, and I knew I wanted to be part of the community at that moment. I'm to programming and I can't wait to learn from everyone here.
I love playing the guitar, too!
Hi ! My name is Martin Menestret, I'm into super enthusiast about functional programming, which I like to blog about. I work in Scala, and would like to play with Haskell as well :).
Nice to join you !
Hi, I'm Rob, I teach Social Studies in a Middle School in South Jersey, and I've been interested in development since I was little messing around with BASIC on my dad's Tandy 1000. I tried majoring in CS as a Freshmen, but quickly failed out of that program and switched to Anthropology which was a better fit for me at that age. When I became a teacher, I noticed that I wanted some personalized tools to be a better teacher, and I have been teaching myself how to code to fulfill my needs ever since (you can visit my class website at mrwetherall.org. I'm trying to learn react, graphql, database (mostly MongoDB right now), node, Javascript, and just how to make code do what my brain envisions (which is really hard as a self-taught programmer). I'm hoping that this site will help answer the why's more than the how's.
Hello world ! š
I'm a 22 years old web developper from France ! š„ š«š·
Just looking forward to read great & inspiring articles from other dev folks, i'll write here maybe, but hum, pardon my French i kinda suck at this, we'll see. š
Well, hoping to read your thoughts on our world, i wish you a good day !
I recently saw someone talking about this site the other day, and decided to have a look for myself. There is some amazing content here, and I hope to be able to contribute positively to conversations. I have made one post so far, and expect to add more soon.

Hello,
I have been reading for a while and apologize for being late to the contribution party! I am not an official developer in my day to day life. I am a IT Systems Analyst for a local non-profit in Phoenix, AZ. In my free time I tech founder/developer for a startup called Burbz.
I am an NBA junkie (and a former employee of the Phoenix Suns) and will always talk hoops.
I was thinking about writing a series about going from startup development into the CTO/CIO role and the pitfalls/joys that come along with it, let me know if you think it would be interesting to read.
Happy Coding
Jon Johnson (yes, you can call me Vicki).
Hi all!

Hi, I'm Camilo from Colombia. I'm new here but I saw this site previously while searching for technical info. I'm a React fan, and want to write some technical but concise articles about some ideas and I think it could be a better place than Medium.

I am a beginner and passionate game developer looking to grow my skills in all things game programming and development related. I'm not limited to that, though, I love most things about computers and computer science.
Really, I love games so much you can basically ask me anything about them. But I am still limited on the technical side of it.
My goal is to learn and share what I can, make some friends and develop lots of amazing and fun experiences.

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the site and thought I should go ahead and introduce myself. I'm a software dev and I'm looking to get to know other developers and learn something new. My focus and current skill set revolve around Javascript and js frameworks like React and Vue. I want to expand my dev-ops experience, so I plan to do a few projects and learn Python.
Fun Facts: I love anime, manga, food, and fashion. <3
An introvert by nature, extrovert by necessity.
I'm new to dev.to thanks to Nader Dabit.
I'm a code newbie mastering html, css, javascript and git via freecodecamp and currently making some web apps in php/mysql via an internship.
In real life I'm a legal technologist, husband/dad, soccer coach, and love meeting new people.
Hello, my name is Alex. Online, I often go by Arswaw. This is because it was my first World of Warcraft character, way back in 2007.
I love to program and use the cloud.
I hope that any articles I write will be useful to others.
Hi there!
I'm new here, but I'm also fairly new to development! I wanted to do this for a long time but didn't, because of 'reasons', until I figured out the only reason was me being a chicken. So I jumped! Fast forward a year and I can call myself a frontend developer at the age of 30.
Because my journey is still ongoing, I'd like to learn a lot more, meet a lot of people and see where it takes me: I'm part of this community!
Oh yeah, I would say a social introvert or an ambivert. I don't mind talking to people, but it takes away all my energy.
Elln
Hey, my name is Thomas and i'm 21.
I find out about dev.to looking for nice written posts about vue.

Hello hello! Just about to finish a full-stack (MERN) coding bootcamp at Northwestern University in Chicago and starting to look for ways to remain active and connected to the developer community beyond class.
Going into the program, I knew full well I would prefer back-end over front-end as I am much more logic driven than creative, and that has certainly proven to be the case. With that said, will always be looking for resources to continue to refine and polish my front-end skills .
We are currently working on our final projects which I am making what will actially be my best-friends website for his upcoming wedding in Hawaii.
Skills learned so far: version control (with hit and GitHub), deployment with Heroku, HTML, CSS, Bootsrap 4, JavaScript, jQuery, Firebase (database and authentication), Moment.js, node.js, express.js, passport.js (authentication), Handlebars (templates), MySQL, Sequelize ORM, mongoDb, Mongoose ORM, and react.js.
For my project, I am actually also learning/using: TypeScript, Material-UI, Nest.js as an alternative to express, as well as unit testing with jest and enzyme.
Iām so happy to have finally found something not only am I good at, but I love doing!
What I would like to learn next: Vue
Hello All. Why did I miss all these days? Good to know this community and share and learn so much knowledge. I am programmer with ETL(Abinitio) and Mainframes(COBOL, JCL , etc).

Also, I would love to make some friends. We can grow together, hold each other accountable and have fun! Please feel free to reach out

Hello! I found this place by accident. I have dreams of becoming a developer, in the event I can defeat my ADHD. I am currently reading Zed Shaw's "Learn Python the Hard Way."
I am certainly an extrovert. I tend to be a tad loud, but can also embarrass myself. I enjoy cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.
Hi folks, Jeff Mcneill here. I've seen links to this site but it took a recent Twitter thread extolling the benefits to figure out what it is all about. I'll start cross-posting blog posts here and contribute when applicable. All the best and nice to meet you all.

Hey folks, I'm Brandon. I'm in Chicago, and I'm 2 weeks into bootcamp at Actualize! Was told by somebody in the know that this community is a great resource for newer coders and that the people are generally nicer here than on Stack Overflow. Looking forward to hanging out.

Hi,
New in this big dev world. I am very excited.
Hello Dev! Welcome to dev.to
I would say that I'm an introvert. Because I spend my weekends at home by coding and doing other stuff
Hi there!
Swedish software developer here. Working mainly with full stack (.NET + JS) webdev in the energy industry. I've been reading some really great articles on DEV so I decided I better join the community/platform myself. I've soon been working for three years since I finished my bachelor (although it was in electrical engineering / embedded systems, but I was freelancing with webdev alongside my studies).
At the moment I'm working a lot with Vue.js. So let me know if you've got any questions, perhaps about using Vue.js together with legacy web apps for example.
When it comes to non-tech stuff I sing a lot and also play a couple of different flutes.
Hi everyone!
I'm very new to the whole Development community, until 2 months ago I was a Carpenter living in New Zealand, who was studying Ruby on Treehouse,
In December I moved to Los Angeles to get married, and am now working for Bullet Train as a Apprentice-Developer. Using my lack of knowledge to help troubleshoot our product for Code Newbies like myself, at the same time to ramp up my knowledge and abilities!
It's an extremely exciting change and I'm hoping to use dev.to as a means of documenting my journey so that others who want to learn have a step-by-step as an example!
Not sure entirely when I'll start blogging but I'd really appreciate any feedback when that happens š
I learned about this community via cppcast #124.
I do research on quantum gravity to determine fun things like the fate of the universe, horizons, and topology change (e.g. wormholes).
Along the way, I wrestle with writing correct, performant simulations.
I do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for stress relief.
I'm an introvert.
Hello World! :) Nice to meet you poeple from Dev.to I'm learning C# by my self with the help of books and videos from youtube.
Hello Everyone,
Hope each of you are doing well. I'm a generalist developer and like dabbling with everything from css to linux kernel. Apart from code, I love Comics, Music and Movies, so much so that I'm writing one in my free time! In the past I've written several articles and a book on Rails.
I want to learn app development and k8s this year and maybe make more commits to open source projects. Also, I love food, always happy to talk about any of these things šš.
I admire coding so much... That's what this is about, now am falling in love with python
