Hallo community!
I found about this community through a blogger. I am as, most of us here a āļø developer āļø but, I am what some people can relate to -- a long time lurker, first time poster. I have been doing some cool stufflately and been planning to blog about this for a while now. Hopefully, I can start it here.
I mostly work on backend/server development and lately I found a new interest in operations. From time to time, I contribute to OSS projects. Since some days, I have been working on adding docker support to Plausible, some of you might be aware of the blog post Why you should remove Google Analytics.
Apart from this, I am in the process of writing these blog posts, would someone be interested in these? let me know!
How to host your own mail-server, dns-server, analytics platform, password manager.. and more at less 15 bucks a month.
Setup your own secure, privacy friendly dns-server
How to write e2e tests on your K8s native application
I will tweet about availability of them in my blog post when it is up.
Hope to read some interesting posts here ..

Hi everyone, I'm Rishal, a software dev from South Africa.
I don't have much exposure to sharing my knowledge and work online.
I am actually more excited to network with other amazing developers and learn from them even tho I have been coding for 6+ years now, hit me up on twitter @rishal92 .
Currently, I am working on a Numerology Mobile App as a personal project and professionally transitioning from front end developer to an integrations developer.
I am writing my first article for OfferZen(Tech Community) and will be sharing those on this platform too.

Hi Katie, hello everyone!
I'm Michael from Wiesbaden, Germany and I've found this great community in the JSFiddle social media settings. It seems to be a wonderful alternative to sites like Stack Overflow, Quora, Reddit, and further.
Briefly about me: In 1983 Iāve started with IBM mainframe operating and struggled with punched cards, tapes, and hard drives as big as washing machines. Later Iāve worked as an administrator of Lotus Notes/Domino servers, the number two of the most-hated software. And now after further stations - also aside IT as a radio presenter & event DJ - Iām a self-employed Technical Editor currently focused on IT documentation and Knowledge Management since 2004.
But thatās not the end - many interesting topics from web and application development are waiting to be discovered. And when a DJ is needed again, then itās still: āWork hard - party (much) hard(er)!ā
Have a great day,
Michael.
Wow, sounds like a great career path!
Hello!
Hi Baishakhi, welcome to DEV!
Hi Katie!
Hello Katie and Thank You :)
Hello Katie
Hello Katie and Thanks :)
hello katie
Hello
Hello there.
Hello everyone!
I'm Alex from Guatemala. I'm a software engineer and the posts here are very useful to our daily knowledge.
Hi Alex, great to have you here!
Hello everyone, so I have to say something about myself. Sometimes it is hard to introduce yourself because you know yourself so well that you do not know where to start with. Let me give a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self-description. Here it goes. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience.I am Baishakhi Chakraborty. Presently I am pursuing my engineering in Electronics and communication engineering from Netaji Subhash Engineering College under MAKAUT. I am in my 4th semester right now. Being a budding engineer I dream of a great technical world. Frankly speaking I am a web designer/developer focused on crafting great web experiences. Designing and Coding have been my passion since the days I started working with computers but I found myself into web design/development in 2020. I enjoy creating beautifully designed, intuitive and functional websites. Earlier I was not so interested in this tech stuffs but when I started boosting my knowledge I got so much interested.
Great story
Thanks a lot!
Wow! Great to see another MAKAUTian here :D . This is my final semester, I'll be graduating within a couple of months with a degree on ECE. But when it is gonna take place that's a big doubt now. :3
YES!! A BIG DOUBT
Great to have you!
Same here!
Nice to meet you! Great story, positivity is everything!
Hey everyone, I'm Arran, I'm a programmer for the past 5 years but I'm fairly new to the world of writing articles and blogging.
I'm starting my blog officially today, here and over at my newly finished website.
I'll be posting content on JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS, AWS, NestJS, and anything else web related that I can share with everyone!
Hello everyone, I'm Jordan Castillo!
I live in the beautiful, green city of Seattle. My background is in Product Management and Scrum Master responsibilities for startups. I just finished an immersive Full Stack program where I expanded on my technical skills with React, Redux, Express, Node and SQL.
While I love working on server-side code, especially designing schemas and manipulating databases, I get fired up on all things client-side too. I believe my PM background and experience working with designers makes me very passionate about building intuitive, elegant user experiences and interfaces.
I hope to contribute in any way that I can bring value to the products I build and contribute to. I also consistently work on gaining exposure to tech/frameworks I may not have experience with, as I love learning and building with new concepts. As developers, I know we all live for that 'aha!' moment in our work. :)
Feel free to check out my site to learn a little more about me.
Jordan,
I checked out your website that you have linked there. It is truly amazing. Even that very first page that types the intro message out is perfectly timed and very well done.
I am graduating with a degree in Computer Science and focused more on the theoretical stuff so I am working on teaching myself how to do all of that kind of impressive web design stuff.
Hey Braden! Thanks so much for the kind words! I love the design element to front-end development.
My portfolio site was made completely with React and styled-components. Both are a good starting point I recommend taking a look at. There's a lot of great documentation on how to use styled-compnents incorporated in your apps and I find it very easy to manage and maintain compared to over-bloated css files.
Please feel free to reach out if you ever want to connect, chat or ask questions about it! I'm very passionate about it and always love chatting with fellow developers (:
Oh here we go... I'm no good at writing.
Hi everyone! I'm Cyris or otherwise known as @sudo_overflow on Twitter. I've been coding for 10 years and started out with basic HTML/CSS skills coding emails for a Digitial Marketing Company.
I'm 100% self-taught and through the years I taught myself JavaScript and NodeJS. Now I'm a lead full-stack developer. I enjoy helping CodeNewbies and will mostly be posting for that purpose, alongside any interesting things I find on my coding journey.
Even though I've been coding for 10 years, I'm still learning just like everyone else.
I hope my posts will inspire or help others.
Cheers,
Cyris
Welcome Cyris I hope you are going to enjoy my vibe too š

Greetings all, I am a newcomer to open source and have recently devoted much work to a functional (programming) promise library, rubico. I created this library because I think functional programming in JavaScript is harder than it should be.. so basically I just want to make everyone's life easier. If you work with
Promises
day to day or are interested in functional programming, I urge you to check it out.As of late, I have been playing a lot with Deno. I look forward to meeting everyone! Thanks for reading.
Greetings
Hello everyone! I'm changing careers having worked in private education for years. I finish my full stack boot camp in about 3 weeks and still feel that I haven't scratched the surface of what I need to know in order to really be ready to work in this new field. Hello World!
I'm new to the DEV community but from what I've read and learned so far I really like how everyone here helps one another progress both personally and professionally.

Looking forward to participating in the community!
Hi everyone, I'm Mahmoud and I'm so glad to come here actually, I am still a student on my last year at the Faculty of Engineering in Computers & Automatic Control Department.
I made a decision that I should join a community with people who I can share with them many things in common at least my career and passion about technologies , web development and other stuff. While searching for new articles to read I came here and I have made the decision and I have told myself " Hey, What's stopping you from joining right now ? Go do it now " and finally I am here with you ā¤

Hello!! to everyone in DEV. I am really excited to have in DEV. I am non IT professional but very interested to IT. Trying to learn by my own with the big world of Internet. Right now i am doing Dish-washing for living in Australia but want to get through a narrow space for me in IT universe.
My topic is #How to motivate NON - IT persons to get in IT as their interest.
HELLO WORLD!
My name is Thilina ("Thi-Li-Nuh") though most people call me T. I went to school for engineering though I didn't know if that was for me. I loved writing Node.js (back when it was the nu kid on the block) but now mostly spend my days building things using the language that fits (lately a lot of Python and Go). Career wise - After graduation I started off in Support before deciding that techy things ARE what I wanted to do, so I got back into engineering. In school projects I was the person that loved talking to users, doing presentations and writing docs - and it seems that's still me, which is why I usually call my self the most "non-engineering" engineer š My interest is thinking about the people experience part of dev (whether that be the customer, user or dev experience). I'm here because it feels like there's always too many writing platforms to choose from and I figure it'd be easier to focus on writing about dev if I'm on a site built specifically for it!
Anyways, I'm still getting the lay of the land but I'm excited to read what ya'll share!
Cheers,
Hi,

Well, after a grueling day trying to get VS Code to deal with phpcs without unbelievable goofy design, I ran across this sight and thought, what the heck they GOT TO know more than what I've encountered so far. Actually, after years of backend server stuff (Red Hat Linux since it went public) I was enticed into MacOS. so, I spend most of my time learning everything Mac. The good thing is, Mac still comes with a ton of useful stuff, including Apache, php, and on and on through Brew ... Look forward to seeing what's making things tick lately.
Hello Everyone..!
I am recently join this community to learn more about tech field and share our experience each other.
I hope this community make a positive change in society.

Hi folks! I'm a Brazilian 46 yo who's been working for 25+ years on infrastructure ops. The time has come to shift my carreer and begin working with dev so I can still keep making ends meet on the future (specially important considering I'm the only provider on my family). So far I've been having a hard time getting traction on my dev knowledge. I've been quite frustrated and depressed as the fear of failing which has been growing can be quite overhelming :-(
So I signed up so I could get some insights and get my hope and my spirits up little bit.
All the best to you all!

Hi All, I'm Matt. I write code for fun and sometimes for work, and I've been attempting to contribute more to OSS lately. I've added a few PRs to a few repos, and I've tried not to add much work to any contributors, but I'm still getting a sense of how to be a "good citizen" in OSS.
I do like writing, so I'm hoping I can add to the conversations here!

I started my programming career in PHP before 6 years. I had written blog articles before, but i haven't continued that. I am taking another chance here. Also I think to stay at my career I have to reinvent my path and sharpen my skills. I have read articles on dev.to and found this platform good.
Hello world! My name is NĆ©stor, I am 17, and I am from Spain. I started programming 5 years ago and I love it.
As I wrote in my summary, I have been self taught since I started, so I do not have any programming studies at all. However I have enough love for programming and time to keep going.
Here you have my past and present as a programmer, for those interested in it:
Starting from the beginning, my first programming language was JavaScript (it is kind of easy to use and setup. Just an HTML file, some code in there, and run). Later (around 6 months later) I knew more about programming languages in general and wanted to learn Java. Did not fully like it because of its long lines (from my point of view Java is not beautiful to see), but since it is so useful and flexible, I made some programs with it.
Two years later, it started an era of language learning. Since I did not actually like Java and I did not enjoy Web development as well, I learnt serveral languages' basics in order to see what language I would like the most, in order to learn deeper inside about it. I learnt Python, C# and C++ in less than 3 months. I loved none of them. I tried to program some games and UWP applications with C#, while making some Python scripts and struggling to understand C++ (I did not understand at all its syntax and the theory behind it) in order to see if I could enjoy at least one of them. I could not.
Later I discovered Arduino, an SoC (System on Chip) usually ruled by an 8-bit AVR microcontroller, that was intended to be programmed using a simplified syntax of C++ (I did understand this version of the language, since it was intended to be easy). I loved it. I had in my hands all the power. That board would do whatever I told it to do. Nothing more and nothing less.
Arduino made me love embedded systems and SoCs, but I had a question: How does this stuff work? Is there a way to tell the board exactly what to do? The answer for both questions was assembly and low level programming.
After some time of researching, I abandoned Arduino and entered the awesome world of low level programming (assembly and C for x86_64). First, I made some simple MASM executables for Windows. Then, I developed some ELF executables with NASM and C and, after some months of continuous training, I felt ready for a huge challenge: creating a 16-bit text-based OS. I wrote it using NASM, and after some months of continuous development several friends contacted me for using my OS (although the OS was not especially useful, it was performance and efficiency oriented). Unfortunately, a couple of months ago I had to delete the OS code and binaries for several reasons (version control problems and technical debt, since it was my very first OS and my first large project).
Later, I noticed I could use assembly to program Arduino, and it made me happy. I loved the idea of being able to use all the theory learnt on programming the platform that made me love this field. Again, made some research on it, but assembly on microcontrollers is quite more difficult than CPU's, so I downloaded all the documentation I could for the ATMEGA328P in order to read and invest my time on it later (even currently it is quite difficult and long for me). Until that moment comes, I want to learn some C++ and make some programs with it (I am on it currently), since I already understand the theory behind it and it is the most used language in Embedded Systems nowadays. At the same time, I am doing some researching and taking free courses on CPU High Performance architectures.
TL;DR:
I have learnt about many languages, but I do love assembly and C (I am learning C++ nowadays) more than any other. High-level languages āāand I don't get along very well.
Hi everyone..

Hi there! I'm a software developer and CS enthusiast, multilingual but prefer Python. Looking forward to an interesting communication, projects, etc. I think of how to share my experience and knowledge worldwide and improve myself by adopting other's knowledge and experience in my job/doing. :)
Hello everyone! New guy here.
Long time ago, in a galaxy far away, 1995 in Arkansas, I was out of the Marines and starting college for psychology. I picked up a magazine that showed the new internet and had a picture of a Beatles page and some HTML for it. I figured it out, and using Netscape and Alta Vista, I learned how to make webpages with Notepad. And I joined many a webring. Good time. Then add some more military deployments, more college, degrees in psychology and philosophy, and working in mental health and resilience and so on.
Now I'm finishing up another deployment and am relearning HTML (holy smokes, it's up to FIVE?) and this new fangled thing called CSS. I'm picking things up and learning. I wish I had some of these codes back in the day. I used a lot... a LOT of invisible images, and 1 pixel spacers, and divs, divs for as farr as the eye could see.
And you don't want to know about the wasteland of autoplay midi songs. It was chaos!
What people do today looks like magic.
I'm hoping to change careers and spend my time in front of my mac instead of working mental health.
Nice to meet you all!
Hello everyone,
I've just finished The Odin Project Full stack JS curriculum. I'm really excited to connect with other developers.

Hi everyone, I'm Arbaaz from India. I'm in the last year of my bachelor of engineering degree. I like python programming language and web development. I use Django framework for web development and I am still learning it. I am looking forward to learn more about python, django, javascript, etc. I am glad that I joined this community.
It's amazing to be here.
In short joining this community is one the great step I've since the beginning of this year.
Having gotten bored about reading news of bad occurrences in the world. I had been trying to keep my brain busy with what I love doing and I think I am in the right place.
As an addicted coder, I love creating solution but getting bored with too much analysis without solution

Hi @ all,
my name is Roland and i want to develop better working conditions for developer. A few years ago i got a mental breakdown after a long life under pressure. After that i start to build my own software and helping other developers to get actual know how to protect against this hard fate.
For now i think legacy code makes ill and i wont to work against this. So I started a company that writes tests for developers to help them. I also give them know how about everything what can make your code and your world better.
If you have any questions about just ping me. i push a lot of open source stuff to GitHub.
Thx
Roland

In the past 14 months, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and more subjects around web development are part of my quotidian. Every day, I study between 5 and 7 hours, from Sunday to Sunday looking to my goals!
One of my goals is to live and work as a Developer in Europe or remotely, and I will need to know English. So, to improve my English and share my knowledge about IT and to learn more effectively, I decided to write about Front-End development, what I am studying, my questions and etc... in English!
Thanks!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Chelsea, I'm from Toronto!
I was inspired to create this blog when I was looking for resources on D3 and SVG once and I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I decided that I could create the content I was looking for and I hope it will make at least one person's life a little easier! My blog will be a mix between things I learn while building projects at work and in my personal life, potentially some spatial data analysis posts, and my experience being a (junior) software developer.
I am mainly interested in back-end software development. I was previously a spatial data analyst for over a year.
I've recently graduated and I'm really excited to be starting my first official software development job in the next few weeks so I'm really excited for that!
I feel this is the perfect time for me to join this community of developers and I'm looking forward to being part of the DEV community!

Hello everyone, I'm Jenson from Singapore.
I chanced upon this blog when I was searching for some inspiration and whether PHP is dead. Yes, I did!
As I'm supporting a procurement application purely written in PHP by my predecessor, yup, I inherited it, it's not really elegantly written, but well at least it's working!
So I'm been trying to better myself at PHP in order to support it to end of its life, probably by next year!
I'm working on VB/C# on .NET web applications at work, and personally interested in other languages like Kotlin, and Scala, and fond of cloud native developments through DecSecOps.
Hello, everyone. My name is Andrey and I am a developer. I write Python and Javascript. Working mostly with Web and Microservices Architecture. Very enthusiastic about DevOps and workflow optimizations.

Hey there,
Most of my life I was doing programming (C, C++, Python) and data science (MS in computer science). I worked a lot with Serverless and even founded the Russian biggest serverless community. Then me and my friend founded Adapty so now I'm more into software architecture and management.
I'm currently studying bayesian a/b testing which we want to implement into our product.

I'm deeply spiritual and have found that that's made me a better engineer, manager, and coworker. Nice to meet you all!

Hello Katie n hello everyone. I'm Pritish. I've been using Python, Perl/bash/awk on Unix-like platform for a variety of ETL, database and web base application. I recently joined and super excited to be a part of this community. Community is really helpful and very informative to me for last couple of years. surprisingly I never write any tech blogs or articles. I am planning to kick start them here and hopefully I can contribute back to community. Recently I deployed covid-19 global stats (pritish.net/superset/dashboard/7/) to AWS lightsail instance, it is powered by Apache superset(Python3, Flask and Elasticsearch). Dashboard is multi sourced and refresh every 10 mins. I will document this tiny project and share it here later. Thank you.
I'm not super new here hahaha but I've been writing more lately, after being inactive for a while. I found out that I love writing about the approach I took in order to build something. I also love to write about the workarounds I did in order to build something.
Last two things I've worked on are contributing to the DEV android app and building a realtime face recognition android app. If you're interested in learning more about the realtime face recognition app, check my post here, I'd love some comments and reactions :D
I never knew I would enjoy writing so much until I started pushing myself to write on here.
Hey.. I'm Nikita Pande
