Hi Melissa - just remember it's the ideas behind programming that are more important than the syntax of the language or the parameters of a function. You have to get the idea, find a way to "see" what is happening, you can Google the rest (at least that's what I do... oh shit, now I have impostor syndrome!)
+1 Mike!
Sound advice
Hey there. I'm a frontend engineer mostly working with react an its ecosystem. In my free-time I read plenty of articles or experiment with typescript/graphql/node on the dark (backend) side ;)
Although I'm here for some time (some years already), I never wrote any posts and was mostly lurking around. But somehow I would love to change that and contribute some content back to this nice community. Any tips/topics on how to get started writing articles? Never had the courage to publish something :/
Hey! I totally connect with lurking around but feeling barriers to contributing content. I've been trying to get over this as well, but it's certainly challenging! I try to remind myself that wherever you are is where you are supposed to be, and in the perfect place to begin. Try to not overthink or get attached to perfection, and just get something out there! The more you do it, the easier it becomes. You can do it! :)
Hello! I've been interested in React for some time and will be diving into it soon. I'll be on the lookout for your articles. I think the only advice I can throw out there for getting started writing articles is just pick one topic/feature/interesting thing you know a good amount about and start writing. Articles don't have to be perfect and you'll get a better idea of what your style is and how you want it to present as you write more.
Welcome to DEV!

Hi! I'm Natalie, worked in marketing before COVID and got laid off in March. I've been wanting to pursue my dream in coding for years, but I kept saying 'someday'. Being stuck at home for a few months has allowed me to actually begin my journey as a web developer! I'm so ready to work hard at this, which is why I joined this community!
Hola from Guatemala!
I like to play with technology, I've created projects with things like tensorflow lite with Flutter, Fronted Applications with Vue + Laravel, Python Rest API, Go plugins for k8s, Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD pipelines. I'm not an expert but I've watched a lot of youtube videos!
I have experience in electronics working with boards like Arduino and raspberry and some robotic components. I'm organizer and speaker at Kubernetes Guatemala a CNCF official meetup.
And I'm here because I want to share content and learn from the community!!
Hola Alvin!
You've done a lot of cool stuff! and also participating in meetups is a great thing to do.

Welcome, Melissa! Wow, you've had some career shift.
Make sure you're consistent in your learnings when it comes to coding, and always believe in yourself. You'll do good!
Enjoy the journey! Sometimes things are hard and that's ok. There's lots of things thrown at you at once. It's a bit of a whirlwind initially but then you get past the hump and things feel pretty good after some time.
Hello I am Ikechukwu and I love coding and I have bounced from one language to the other and will need someone to guide me in a language so that I can be productive in it. I have lots of ideas but no means of expressing it.
Hello, folks! My name's Kyla. I've been self studying for a while now and am working on a project using React, Redux, Cloud Firestore, Material UI, and Formik. Hello Dev’s !
My name is Srikanth based out of Hyderabad, India.
I am working as Front End Developer since 3yrs but Love towards front end started 6months ago, From the start of my career i am not much inclined to this area because I aspired to be an ML Engineer.somehow I decided to be an Front End Engineer.
Yeah... Anyways I am so happy to be part of this community and excited to learn more.
Hi. I'm Marvin, I switched from technical support to software developer, most of my knowledge comes from learning data structures from online courses and reading books like clean code by Uncle Bob, my native language is Spanish and with all this covid situation I hope everyone is doing fine
I am Cassandra! I live in the Amazon of Peru. My past-life (LMAO) is as an ecologist, and small-business owner. I steward 2000 hectares of primary rainforest and work harvesting Brazil nuts 2 months of the year :)
I have loved computers since Joseph Marie Jacquard, and probably earlier.... I have some pretty crazy esoteric ideas about programming, but love nitty gritty details and concepts. Particulary, I am drawn to Security, and Open-Source software development.
I believe in a tech-future that isn't just dominated by S.Valley, but also influenced by people living in the smaller towns around the world. I believe highspeed internet access and technology literacy should be a fundamental human right.
My internet is ~7mbps on a good day, but speed is no matter to me // because what really fires me up is feeling part of a bigger movement and community. Already I have found some good online places to connect with other like-minded (and not so likeminded, but equally passionate) people who love TECH, and even more, who love talking with computers. You've also noticed, I LOVE TALKING (and listening).
I think 2020 is a great time to learn to be a developer. I am going slow and steady in order to dive into each rabbit-hole I fall into, but I am learning full time.
I know the future is TECH: it needs people with hearts & minds to influence towards technologies that serve healthy, happy people and cultures, and intact ecosystems.
Hi everyone! I am Erdinch. I am from Bulgaria 🇧🇬 Hope all you guys do well!!!

Wish all of you good luck. Take care!
I am a full-stack developer. I have been doing web development for six years now. I have a great passion for coding in general. Hello! I hope all of you are doing good and are safe : )
My name is Nirbhay and I am a newbie in the world of development. I started my career in the Software field as a Customer Support Engineer and now I am working as a WordPress Developer at Ideabox Creations. Coding has very mysterious awe for me and I love exploring new realms of it. I came across Dev Community while trying to build a similar kind of blog on WordPress. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here.
Kudos and have a great time ahead : )
Hello all! I'm Justus, I've been a mostly frontend developer long enough to know all about the quirks of IE6. I'm looking forward to both share some of my knowledge within this community, as well as being enlightened by others!
I've got experience with Angular, React, Backbone, of course jQuery (from back in the days) but I've also touched on Ruby (on Rails), Python and a touch of C#. I would like to broaden my experience on other languages, as lessons learned and techniques are often very well portable between those. Anyway, see you around!
Hello friends. I'm yanu. Currently active in the fastro project. By the way, dev.to web user experience is great.
Hello! I am Prajjwal Nijhara, 2nd Year Electrical Engineering student at Aligarh Muslim University, India. Though I am an electrical engineering student, I still love to talk more about computers, APIs, open-source, nodejs, vuejs, python, and cybersecurity. I am currently working as Dev-Outreach/Dev-Rel intern at DeepSource pvt. ltd. Loves to write blogs, book reviews, about politics, and sometimes poems.
That's quite strange of dev.to that no one replied!

Currently, me and my team mostly work on WordPress and React Native projects. We recently built and launched our own website using Frontity framework and it made me love React even more! Here to learn more and build better products.
Hey Aravind! Glad to see you here 🙂 👋
Hey everyone, my name is Ian and I am a former Accounting Manager who discovered my coding passion a couple years ago by learning VBA to interact with Microsoft Excel and Access. I wanted to learn how to build websites, so I started checking out learning sites like W3Schools and CodeAcademy. After that, I was hooked and realized this is what I want to do. So I quit my job and went back to school full-time to earn my BS in Computer Science. I graduated Dec 2019 and I am eager to start my new career as a Software Engineer. Covid 19 has obviously delayed my plans slightly, but in the meantime I am reading coding books, practicing on Leetcode, and building small side projects. I am comfortable writing code in several languages such as Java, Python, C/C++, Javascript, PHP, SQL, along with the website basics HTML and CSS. I also have used a couple of frameworks like Laravel and Django, but I am eager to learn much more!
Hello! My name is mayank singh verma. I'm a student of harcourt butler technican university, india. This time i am enrolled in a python course at udemy. The covid-19 pandemic has given me the chance to skill my self.

Hello. My name is Vlad. I've been working in cable industry for 3 years (Xfinity, Spectrum). COVID-19 brought to a point that I want to work in another field, do something I always wanted to do. Currently I'm a student at Claim Academy, Saint Louis MO (Our mentor makes us post these messages here help! it's a joke 😄). I'm really excited about my new career path and to be the part of DEV community.
Hi, this is Anik Khan, a new member here. Graduated in 2019, major in computer science. I had a passion for programming and gained a bit of knowledge but I always shy myself away from building projects, collaborating with others. Along the way, I made some huge mistakes that suffocate my dream of becoming a developer, a true one. Here are my mistakes-
⚡ I didn't collaborate with others. I thought tutorials will make me a superior programmer than others.
⚡ I never try to build something if there's no tutorial for that.
⚡ I often used to burn out a lot because I didn't know when to stop. 10 hours at a stretch to solve a programming problem and then stop practicing for one month.
⚡ I always felt low about myself that I only applied for one single developer job since graduation.
Me, however, isn't necessarily a bad programmer rather a coward one. I do have a good grasp on procedural and OOP paradigm but I always reserved myself from building new projects on my own. I was too coward to challenge my knowledge.
However, I got a job as an instructor in a technical school because of my core CS and foundational programming knowledge. But after 1 year(beginning of 2020) I quit; I felt like I am scaping away from my pursuit.
So here I am again. I hope I can grow with the awesome community and will find a way of salvation. I hope I will get your support on this journey of salvation. #welcome
