Hello! My name is Melissa. I'm a former Orthodontic assistant, former Microblade Artist and former Lash tech. The Covid-19 Pandemic has given me the chance to totally switch my career path. I'm currently enrolled in a Javascript Bootcamp at Claim Academy in Saint Louis, MO. Excited for this new beginning! Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi Melissa - just remember it's the ideas behind programming that are more important than the syntax of the language or the parameters of a function. You have to get the idea, find a way to "see" what is happening, you can Google the rest (at least that's what I do... oh shit, now I have impostor syndrome!)

Welcome to DEV! πŸ‘‹

Whale hello there!

πŸ€£πŸ’›

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Get involved in an open source project!

Enjoy the journey! Sometimes things are hard and that's ok. There's lots of things thrown at you at once. It's a bit of a whirlwind initially but then you get past the hump and things feel pretty good after some time.

Welcome, Melissa! Wow, you've had some career shift.

Make sure you're consistent in your learnings when it comes to coding, and always believe in yourself. You'll do good!

Hello Melissa, and welcome ! :D

Good luck to the Bootcamp !

Hi, Melissa, welcome to the community! I hope you are as excited as I am!

Welcome Melissa! Good luck with this!!

I wish you the best of luck Melissa

Interesting !!!

Hang in there and develop the appetite for coding in a slow phase manner.

Go for it!!! πŸ’ͺ

Hi melissa, nice to have you here. Am sure you're going to do just fine

Great, good decision, wise choice. keep learning

Dont stress the occasional error. Code everyday. Thats how i did it back in the late 90s

Hello! My name is Mathew. I'm looking to learn coding (from scratch as I have no knowledge on this. My previous jobs were in analytics (basic excels) and want to explore more in analytics domain. Also I am interested in IOT and looking forward to see what I can learn to automate my work ;-)

Heyo! πŸ‘‹

Hope you dig it here, Mathew!

Hey there. I'm a frontend engineer mostly working with react an its ecosystem. In my free-time I read plenty of articles or experiment with typescript/graphql/node on the dark (backend) side ;)

Although I'm here for some time (some years already), I never wrote any posts and was mostly lurking around. But somehow I would love to change that and contribute some content back to this nice community. Any tips/topics on how to get started writing articles? Never had the courage to publish something :/

Hey! I totally connect with lurking around but feeling barriers to contributing content. I've been trying to get over this as well, but it's certainly challenging! I try to remind myself that wherever you are is where you are supposed to be, and in the perfect place to begin. Try to not overthink or get attached to perfection, and just get something out there! The more you do it, the easier it becomes. You can do it! :)

Hello! I've been interested in React for some time and will be diving into it soon. I'll be on the lookout for your articles. I think the only advice I can throw out there for getting started writing articles is just pick one topic/feature/interesting thing you know a good amount about and start writing. Articles don't have to be perfect and you'll get a better idea of what your style is and how you want it to present as you write more.

Hello everyone, Aakriti here.
Currently working on Linux and writing about it.

Great to have you Aakriti, and awesome to see you're already writing!

Yeah, thanks.
That was the whole reason of coming to dev.to

Hi! I'm Natalie, worked in marketing before COVID and got laid off in March. I've been wanting to pursue my dream in coding for years, but I kept saying 'someday'. Being stuck at home for a few months has allowed me to actually begin my journey as a web developer! I'm so ready to work hard at this, which is why I joined this community!

Hola from Guatemala!

I like to play with technology, I've created projects with things like tensorflow lite with Flutter, Fronted Applications with Vue + Laravel, Python Rest API, Go plugins for k8s, Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD pipelines. I'm not an expert but I've watched a lot of youtube videos!

I have experience in electronics working with boards like Arduino and raspberry and some robotic components. I'm organizer and speaker at Kubernetes Guatemala a CNCF official meetup.

And I'm here because I want to share content and learn from the community!!

Hola Alvin!

You've done a lot of cool stuff! and also participating in meetups is a great thing to do.

Great to have you here. 😁

Hello! My name is Justin Castillo and I'm from Costa Rica. Currently I'm specializing in Blockchain (EOSIO specifically) but I have background on Nodejs, Angular, postgresql, graphql and react. I've always wanted a space like this to learn, contribute and share ideas. I also speak Spanish (obviously πŸ˜„).
I hope I can help with something to the community πŸ˜„πŸ™

Hello I am Ikechukwu and I love coding and I have bounced from one language to the other and will need someone to guide me in a language so that I can be productive in it. I have lots of ideas but no means of expressing it.

Hello, folks! My name's Kyla. I've been self studying for a while now and am working on a project using React, Redux, Cloud Firestore, Material UI, and Formik. I've joined this community to start writing blogs as a way to help myself learn through teaching others as I go along. It's a win for everyone though!

Hi everyone! My name is Ruanna, and I work in developer relations at TomTom. I am also taking a basic HTML/CSS course and am certainly a newbie in that regard! With that being said, I like browsing the forums on here and sharing tutorials from our developer blog on all things mapping. Feel free to reach out and connect!

Hi all! I'm Lamia Pardo, Founder of Journify! A burnout tracking & audio journaling app. You can organize your timeline nicely with tags & comments, and share your updates if you want. I've been recording my founder journey and it's been so fun (plus venting without filter feels gooood haha). It's free in the app store. Here is more info journify.co or you can just search for Journify - Audio Journaling.

In addition to our app, we've been growing our viewership in our blog "The Burnout Lab". If your business is related to mental wellbeing or you have a story to share, please get in touch.

Hello! I am Prajjwal Nijhara, 2nd Year Electrical Engineering student at Aligarh Muslim University, India. Though I am an electrical engineering student, I still love to talk more about computers, APIs, open-source, nodejs, vuejs, python, and cybersecurity. I am currently working as Dev-Outreach/Dev-Rel intern at DeepSource pvt. ltd. Loves to write blogs, book reviews, about politics, and sometimes poems.

That's quite strange of dev.to that no one replied!

Hello! My name is Hung. I've graduated as Software Engineer. I have experience about backend/frontend developer, DevOps, AWS. I have deep passion about Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Currently, I'm learning about data and machine learning. My target is becoming data scientist next year.

Sorry if I have mistake in my sentences, English is not my mother language. So any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi Hung, welcome to Dev 😊

I am not very good at English myself but I didn't find any mistake in your post. I also struggle with English. That's why I use Grammarly, It really helps me. You can install a browser extension of Grammarly.

Hi everyone! I am Erdinch. I am from Bulgaria πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬ Hope all you guys do well!!!

I have economics background. Lived and worked in UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ for the past 6 years. Decided to switch my career. So, did quit my job. Just started learning HTML/CSS and JavaScript. Planning to be comfortable with Front-end before jumping to Back-end. Any advice will be appreciated.

Wish all of you good luck. Take care!

Hello all! I'm Justus, I've been a mostly frontend developer long enough to know all about the quirks of IE6. I'm looking forward to both share some of my knowledge within this community, as well as being enlightened by others!

I've got experience with Angular, React, Backbone, of course jQuery (from back in the days) but I've also touched on Ruby (on Rails), Python and a touch of C#. I would like to broaden my experience on other languages, as lessons learned and techniques are often very well portable between those. Anyway, see you around!

Greetings everyone! My name is Kaushal.
I am a Software Engineer and new to this Developer community. The community is a great place to network with other developers and learn from their work. I am looking to improve my skills here and work on some cool projects.

Hey there! My name is Ken. I'm a React developer working full time at a job I love. I learned development exclusively through online resources and am wanting to start writing content so I can give back and help some budding developers start their dream careers.

I am a full-stack developer. I have been doing web development for six years now. I have a great passion for coding in general. I have good hands-on experience with both software and hardware ranging from web apps to IoT applications & pursuing Masters in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati.

Hello Dev’s !
My name is Srikanth based out of Hyderabad, India.
I am working as Front End Developer since 3yrs but Love towards front end started 6months ago, From the start of my career i am not much inclined to this area because I aspired to be an ML Engineer.somehow I decided to be an Front End Engineer.

Hello guys my name is Charles (sesughter is my tribal name), I am a civil engineering grad and tech enthusiast. Worked as a civil engineer in Nigeria for a number of years but now I am looking at building a career developing web and mobile applications. Its great to be here.

I am Cassandra! I live in the Amazon of Peru. My past-life (LMAO) is as an ecologist, and small-business owner. I steward 2000 hectares of primary rainforest and work harvesting Brazil nuts 2 months of the year :)

I have loved computers since Joseph Marie Jacquard, and probably earlier.... I have some pretty crazy esoteric ideas about programming, but love nitty gritty details and concepts. Particulary, I am drawn to Security, and Open-Source software development.

I believe in a tech-future that isn't just dominated by S.Valley, but also influenced by people living in the smaller towns around the world. I believe highspeed internet access and technology literacy should be a fundamental human right.

My internet is ~7mbps on a good day, but speed is no matter to me // because what really fires me up is feeling part of a bigger movement and community. Already I have found some good online places to connect with other like-minded (and not so likeminded, but equally passionate) people who love TECH, and even more, who love talking with computers. You've also noticed, I LOVE TALKING (and listening).

I think 2020 is a great time to learn to be a developer. I am going slow and steady in order to dive into each rabbit-hole I fall into, but I am learning full time.

I know the future is TECH: it needs people with hearts & minds to influence towards technologies that serve healthy, happy people and cultures, and intact ecosystems.

Hi. I'm Marvin, I switched from technical support to software developer, most of my knowledge comes from learning data structures from online courses and reading books like clean code by Uncle Bob, my native language is Spanish and with all this covid situation I hope everyone is doing fine

Hello! I hope all of you are doing good and are safe : )

My name is Nirbhay and I am a newbie in the world of development. I started my career in the Software field as a Customer Support Engineer and now I am working as a WordPress Developer at Ideabox Creations. Coding has very mysterious awe for me and I love exploring new realms of it. I came across Dev Community while trying to build a similar kind of blog on WordPress. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here.

Kudos and have a great time ahead : )

Hello there! I am still not sure if it was right to register here because I am a mathematician, not a developer. In my spare time, mostly reading and coding with javascript. I am still a rookie tough. My biggest passions are gnu/linux, foreign languages and playing bridge on BBO.

But you like good black tea and the command line, so I'm glad you're here.

Hello friends. I'm yanu. Currently active in the fastro project. By the way, dev.to web user experience is great.
