Ng-News 25/21: Google I/O, Spring Camp

This week’s ng-news highlights two Angular surprises from Google I/O: DevTools profiling improvements and upcoming AI documentation. Plus, insights from Angular Spring Camp and a reminder about tomorrow’s Angular v20 launch event.

Google I/O

Google I/O took place last week, and there was also a talk on the current state and future of Angular by Mark Thompson and Devin Chasanoff. They hinted at two upcoming features that haven’t been widely mentioned in the Angular 20 release so far:

  1. Improved integration with Chrome DevTools, especially around profiling.
  2. A new chapter in the official docs about AI integration—something Mark and Devin have been livestreaming about frequently.

Angular Spring Camp

The Angular Spring Camp by Angular Love also took place.
Fanis Prodromou gave a solid overview of how Signals improve UI, DX, and performance.

Enea Yahollari showed how difficult it can be to lazy-load components based on viewport visibility—and how simple it becomes with @defer, highlighting the improved developer experience.

There was also a Q&A session featuring Mateusz Stefanczyk.

Angular 20 Release Event

Don’t forget that the Angular v20 launch event is happening tomorrow – May 29th.
