Two days ago I launched openconstructor (https://openconstructor.pw), a free, open-source browser editor: you describe an interface, the AI builds it on a canvas, and then you edit it by hand or ask the AI to change one part.
The numbers from Cloudflare (screenshot):
- 562 unique visitors
- 8.1k requests
- $0 spent on ads
What I think worked:
- No sign-up wall. You can open the editor and generate a page right away. The built-in AI runs on free open models (GPT-OSS 120B, Llama 3.3 70B) on Cloudflare, so nobody needs an API key.
- One post per community, each written for that community, not one copy-pasted announcement.
- Shipping in public. I kept adding features during launch week (320+ components, publishing with your own domain, export to React/Vue/Svelte, even Roblox and LÖVE 2D UI) and logged each one in a public changelog.
What didn't work (yet):
- Turning visitors into accounts: almost nobody signs up, because the editor works without an account. I'm still figuring out what's worth signing up for.
- Small free models are inconsistent at design. I ended up building some page types from hand-made sections and letting the AI write only the content, which made the output far more reliable.
It's fully open source: https://github.com/Kuloka/openconstructor
I'd love honest feedback: what would make you actually come back and use a tool like this?
