How to land my first developer job?

Hi Everyone,

So I've been on the job hunt for an entry level position as a developer for quite some time now, but have not had any luck. I have experience in back-end and front-end languages, but I personally prefer the front-end. I would greatly appreciate some tips and advice on how to be more successful when it comes to the job hunt. Any stories on how long it took you to land your first job and and how to stay motivated will also help.
