I've posted here before about Toollium — 70 free browser-based tools, no sign-up, no watermarks. This time I want to focus on just one piece: the CV Builder, which just went from "basic form" to something I'm actually proud of.
What it does now
Photo upload — drop in a headshot, it fits the template automatically
4 modern templates — clean, recruiter-friendly layouts, not the cluttered kind that trips up ATS parsers
AI writing help — describe your role in plain language, the AI drafts your summary and bullet points for you
PDF export — download a polished, print-ready PDF, no watermark
ATS-friendly output — structured so applicant tracking systems can actually parse it, not just look nice to a human
Alongside the builder itself, I added two new reference pages:
CV Templates — browse the template designs before you commit to one
CV Examples — real filled-out examples across different roles, for when you're staring at a blank page and need a starting point
Why I built this
Every CV builder I tried had the same pattern: free until you want to download without a watermark, or free until you hit template #2, then a paywall. Zety, Novoresume, most of the "free" resume sites — same story.
Toollium's CV Builder skips that entirely. No account, no paywall, no watermark on export. If you're job hunting, you shouldn't have to pay $15-30/month for a PDF you'll use twice a year.
The AI part specifically
The AI writing assist is the piece I spent the most time on. It's not just "write me a CV" — it takes your role, responsibilities, and achievements as input and drafts summary text and bullet points you can edit inline. You stay in control of the final wording; it just kills the blank-page problem.
This runs the same way the rest of Toollium's AI tools do (paraphraser, grammar checker) — your text is sent for processing and nothing is stored afterward.
