What is warpSpeed OPEN?
warpSpeed OPEN is a bounty-based platform for developers who want to:
- Build features that respect privacy, transparency, and user agency
- Get paid fairly for well-scoped, contract-based work
- Skip the traditional hiring grind (no interviews, no gatekeeping)
Why We're Doing This
Most AI tools today are built to extract, surveil, and monetise user data. We believe ethical AI—tools that respect privacy, transparency, and user control—can scale and pay developers fairly. So we're experimenting with a different model:
- Transparent projects with clear scope and pay
- Fair compensation for developers ($330-$825 per contract)
- Open-source contributions that build public goods
Current Projects (January 2026)
We have 12 live porjects across three difficulty levels:
🟢 Easy (4-6 hours) → $330
- Implement OAuth flow for social login
- Build a file upload component with progress tracking
- Create a notification system UI
🟡 Medium (8-14 hours) → $440-$750
- Build a real-time collaborative editing feature
- Implement end-to-end encryption for user data
- Create a moderation dashboard with filtering/search
🔴 Hard (13-15 hours) → $825
- Build a federated identity system (privacy-first authentication)
- Implement local-first sync with conflict resolution
- Create a self-hosted AI inference pipeline

Tech Stack
- Frontend: React Native (Expo), TypeScript

How It Works

2️⃣ Claim & Build
Submit your GitHub username. We'll create a private repo with specs, and you'll have 7-14 days to complete the work.
3️⃣ Submit & Get Paid
Submit a PR. Once approved and merged, you get paid via PayPal.
No interviews. No whiteboarding. No gatekeeping.
Who Can Join?
Anyone with:
- TypeScript + React Native experience (mid-level or above)
- A GitHub account with at least 5 public repos or contributions
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines

I’m really excited about your platform and love the focus on ethical AI. It’s a great initiative! I’m based in Ohio, US, and have already created an account and claimed the bounty to “Build a web version of our app’s AI Chat.”
I’m running into a couple of issues, though, and was hoping for some help. My ID verification (KYC) keeps failing, even after I’ve submitted clear documents several times. Also, I haven’t received the GitHub repository invite yet, even though my claim shows as active.
Could someone from the team help me troubleshoot this, or let me know the best way to get support? I’d really love to start working on the bounty.

Hello, thanks for your comment. Indeed, at this time, our system is configured to accept contributors with verified addresses in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. This limitation is due to the payment system's onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification requirements. Without verifiable address documentation in one of these jurisdictions, the payment system will not complete verification. We are currently working to expand to additional regions and countries and will notify contributors as these capabilities become available.
