Building Joanium HQ: Turning Startup Chaos Into an Animated Series

When I launched Joanium, I thought the hardest problems would be building AI agents, integrating model providers, and figuring out product-market fit.

I was wrong.

The hardest part was surviving the chaos that comes with building an AI startup in 2026.

Every day felt like a sitcom episode.

One week, a new model would change the entire industry overnight. The next week, investors would demand an AI strategy for their AI strategy. Open-source models would become closed-source. Developers would panic. Founders would pivot. Twitter would explode.

And somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, three people were trying to build something meaningful.

That's how Joanium HQ was born.

What is Joanium HQ?

Joanium HQ is a 2D adult animated sitcom inspired by startup culture, AI hype cycles, and the absurd reality of building products in the age of intelligent agents.

Think:

  • Silicon Valley meets The Office
  • Startup memes meet AI news
  • Founder anxiety meets internet chaos

Every episode follows the team behind Joanium as they navigate impossible deadlines, unpredictable AI breakthroughs, investor pressure, viral tech trends, and the everyday madness of startup life.

The goal isn't just to make people laugh.

It's to document one of the most transformative periods in technology through humor.

Because honestly, if you don't laugh at the AI industry right now, you'll probably cry.

Meet the Team

Joel Jolly — The Founder

Joel is a 23-year-old founder who accidentally became CEO before figuring out how to manage stress.

He's brilliant, overthinks everything, reads too much AI news, and constantly wonders whether his startup will survive another week.

He believes technology should empower people—not replace them.

Unfortunately, the internet has other plans.

Tara Chen — The Engineer

Tara is the senior engineer and the smartest person in the room.

She cuts through hype with sarcasm, solves impossible technical problems, and somehow keeps the company running despite everyone else's questionable decisions.

While Joel worries about the future, Tara focuses on building.

Max Mercer — The Chaos Machine

Max is a serial entrepreneur with endless confidence and zero impulse control.

Every conversation with Max starts with:

"I have an idea."

And every idea somehow creates three new problems.

He represents startup culture at its most ambitious, ridiculous, and entertaining.

Why We Created This Series

The AI industry moves faster than almost any other industry in history.

Today's breakthrough becomes tomorrow's old news.

Developers are overwhelmed.

Founders are exhausted.

Users are confused.

Yet beneath all the hype, there's a deeply human story.

People are adapting to technologies that evolve faster than anyone expected.

Joanium HQ explores questions many of us are already asking:

  • Will AI replace jobs?
  • What happens when models become commodities?
  • How do startups survive when the landscape changes weekly?
  • Can humans maintain meaningful relationships in an AI-first world?
  • Is moving fast still an advantage when everyone moves at machine speed?

Instead of answering these questions with whitepapers and keynote presentations, we're answering them with comedy.

Inspired by Real Events

Almost every episode begins with a real headline.

A new model launch.

An unexpected acquisition.

An open-source controversy.

A viral AI demo.

A startup pivot.

We take those moments and ask:

What would happen if a small team had to react to this in real time?

The result is a world where founders debate whether AI will replace their own jobs, engineers fight against impossible deadlines, and entire business strategies change before lunch.

It's fiction.

But only barely.

More Than Entertainment

Joanium HQ is also a time capsule.

Years from now, we'll look back at this era and wonder how everything changed so quickly.

We want to capture that feeling.

The excitement.

The uncertainty.

The optimism.

The fear.

The endless stream of announcements that somehow reshaped entire industries overnight.

Behind every AI breakthrough are real people trying to understand what comes next.

This series is for them.

For developers building late into the night.

For founders chasing impossible ideas.

For engineers trying to separate signal from noise.

For everyone wondering where this AI revolution is taking us.

The Future of Joanium

Joanium started as an AI platform focused on creating powerful, privacy-first agents that help people get real work done.

Joanium HQ expands that vision beyond software.

It transforms our experiences, failures, wins, and lessons into stories.

Because technology isn't just about code.

It's about people.

And sometimes, the best way to understand the future is to laugh at the present.

Welcome to Joanium HQ.

The startup may be fictional.

The chaos is not.
