What's the strangest Wi-Fi name you've ever seen? 😮

This weekend, I went to my aunt's home. Being the obnoxious techie that I am, the first thing I said when I stepped into the house was this:

"What's the Wi-Fi name and password?"

My 10-year old cousin came running to me and, with great pride, she said, "The Wi-Fi name is YouWillBeHacked. I chose this name, you know."

I connected to the Wi-Fi. Thank God I wasn't hacked. 😂

Sarcasm aside, I've been curious since then. What is the strangest or maybe even the coolest Wi-Fi name you've ever come across? 🤨

Let everyone know!

Now that I'm seeing this again, I would love to set up a fake WiFi network named "Enter at own risk" and connect it to a Raspberry Pi that directs all network traffic to a jump scare image or video stored locally.

If I had a Pi and extra router on hand, I totally would do this. Lol 😆

Once I saw: "Konšpiračný byt" (In Slovak). Could be translated as conspiracy apartment. It was a joke related to Slovak political corruption scandal Gorilla

Mine's "turn down that metal!" ...so that i would have undeniable evidence, that it's not me forcing all neighbours to listen to metal.

This is a good evolution on the "FBI Surveillance Van" wifi trope

  • don't remember the exact wording, translated it would be "you won't come in"
  • not yet seen in the wild, but bet it is in use somewhere: You Shall Not Pass!
  • several friends had their SSIDs refer to "Messwagen" (radio/emission measuring vehicle)

My guest wifi is now "5G-Corona-Pole" (actually "5G-Corona-Mast", because I'm from Germany).
My real Wifi is called WOA-LAN (WOA -> Wacken Open Air)
The legacy 2.4GHz Wifi is of course called OBI-WLAN-KENOBI.

One of my neighbours called his wifi "Karl-Singel-30cm". Yes, he misspelled 'single'...
