Am I becoming selectively text blind?

Today I was reading a post and when I registered the text turned into an advertisement my brain didn't register the words anymore and I just scrolled down.

I think it is the equivalent of tuning out the advertisement banners and images you see on most websites.

The problem I see with it is that the advertisement text is woven in with text that is informational. So I'm losing what could be a part of the reasoning or a crucial piece of information.

I have seen the same pattern with YouTube creators who review items, and mix the item review with the advertisement. I gotten into the habit of skipping that item entirely.

In a video it bothers me not as much but in text it feels like reading a story and getting interrupted by information that is so out of context it doesn't feel good anymore to read the rest.

Am I the problem or do you have the same or a similar experience?
I understand people make posts for different reasons and it is not my place to ban things, nor do I want to. I'm wondering how other people react when they have the same realization I had.

My brains switches to scrolling mode when it seems to detect AI slop, especially the verbose LLM style with repetitive structure and emojis in headlines and list items.

This made me smile, Ingo! I just came across a post like that that had the cheek to slap on the "Written by a Human" badges I use myself - free-to-use, yes, but clearly misapplied there.
