Best apps to make your dog or cat talk or sing from a photo (2026)

If you want your dog or cat to say "happy birthday" or sing along to a song, you have a few ways to do it from one photo. I went through the pet video tools I could open without installing anything. Prices and features were checked on 2026-11-07 on each site's own pages, and they change often, so look again before you pay. I built one of them (Talking Pet App), so read that entry with that in mind.

What to look for

  • Is the mouth really moving? Some tools draw a mouth on the photo, others use a video model that moves the lips, jaw and head with the sound.
  • What does the voice come from? Typed words read aloud, your own recording, a song library, or all of them.
  • How you pay. A weekly plan, a monthly plan, credits, or one price per video. A weekly price adds up fast if you only want one birthday video.
  • Watermark and length. Free videos often carry a watermark and are short.

1. TalkingPets.ai

A web and phone tool for talking and singing pet videos. Its homepage lets you make a first video for free with no credit card. On the web, its FAQ lists unlimited videos at $4.99 a week or $29.99 a year, and says the free video carries a watermark.

  • Price: free first video, then $4.99/week or $29.99/year
  • Best for: people who will make many videos and want a big song and creator community
  • Limit: a subscription, which is a poor fit for a single gift video

2. Singing Pet

Focused on singing videos: you upload a photo, pick a song from its library (it says 500+), a voice recording or text to speech, and get a video back.

  • Price: free plan with 1 video a month and a watermark; $12.99/week or $39.99/year for unlimited
  • Best for: trying many songs fast
  • Limit: the weekly plan is the priciest on this list if you forget to cancel

3. TalkPix

A broader AI video studio with a talking photo tool, a singing photo tool and more. You buy credits: packs start at $5, they never expire, and it says a talking photo costs 1 credit per second at 720p.

  • Price: credit packs from $5, no subscription
  • Best for: people who also want product ads or other talking photo videos, not only pets
  • Limit: not pet-specific, so there is no pet song list

4. FreeLipSync

A lip sync site with many separate tools, including pet singing and talking photo pages. It has a free plan, paid plans from $9.90 a month, and a one-time $4.99 credit pack for free and Starter users, per its pricing page.

  • Price: free plan, then monthly plans or a one-time credit pack
  • Best for: people who want to try a free tool and may need other lip sync jobs (dubbing, podcast video)
  • Limit: many tools and plans, so it takes a minute to find the right one

5. Talking Pet App (mine)

I built Talking Pet App for the case where you want one good video, not a plan. Upload one clear photo of your dog, cat, rabbit, bird or hamster (two pets side by side work too), then give it a voice: type words and pick a pet voice, record yourself, upload an audio file, or pick one of 26 songs such as Happy Birthday. An AI video model moves the pet's own mouth in time with the voice, and you download an MP4 of up to 30 seconds at 720p with no watermark, usually in 2 to 5 minutes. It runs in the browser with no app and no sign-up. There is a step-by-step page on how to make your dog talk from a photo.

  • Price: $4.99 per video, or credits (packs from $12.99 for 60, credits never expire); no subscription
  • Best for: a birthday, holiday or memorial video made once, with your own recorded voice
  • Limit: no free tier, so every video is paid; pet photos only, no people; the pet speaks with the audio you give it, it does not clone voices

Which one should you pick?

  • Many videos, with a free first try: TalkingPets.ai or Singing Pet.
  • Pets plus other talking photo uses: TalkPix.
  • A free tool among many lip sync tools: FreeLipSync.
  • One video, your own voice, no plan: Talking Pet App.

Whatever you use, a sharp photo with the pet's face looking at the camera and its mouth closed gives the cleanest result. Try the free options first, and compare the exact video you get before you pay.
