Two numbers this week that quietly change what a small WhatsApp or CRM rollout actually costs — both straight from the vendors' own docs, not marketing copy.
WhatsApp: your "bulk broadcast" list is capped long before 5,000
Everyone selling WhatsApp broadcast tools quotes the contact-list ceiling (usually 5,000 on a CSV upload) and stops there. What they don't mention is Meta's own messaging limit tier system, which caps a business phone number's reach, independent of your list size:
- A brand-new WhatsApp Business Platform number starts at a rolling limit of 250 unique recipients.
- It only unlocks 2,000 after the business is verified — or, without verification, after it delivers 2,000 messages outside customer-service windows to unique numbers within a 30-day period, using templates with a good quality rating.
- From there it scales automatically to 10,000 → 100,000 → unlimited, but only if the business keeps sending high-quality messages and uses at least half its current limit in the trailing 7 days.
So a store that just got its Cloud API number and immediately tries to blast 5,000 people on day one will get throttled at 250, not 5,000 — no matter how big the CSV is. (Source: Meta's own messaging-limits doc, developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/messaging-limits.)
We set this up as a fixed-price one-off — ₹5,999, template designed, submitted to Meta and sent within 3-4 working days — and now check the number's actual tier before promising reach: WhatsApp Bulk Broadcast Setup.
Zoho CRM's free plan is genuinely free — with a 5,000-call ceiling nobody reads
Zoho advertises "forever free," and that's literally true: the Free edition covers 3 users, no credit card required, no time limit. What's easy to miss is the API cap baked into that tier: 5,000 API calls per day. That's plenty for basic email logging and a handful of workflow automations, but it's the wall you hit first if you connect a form builder, a WhatsApp integration and a Zapier/n8n flow all to the same account.
Once you outgrow 3 users, Zoho's paid tiers (per user, per month, USD, local taxes extra) are:
- Standard — $14
- Professional — $23
- Enterprise — $40
(Source: zoho.com/crm/zohocrm-pricing.html.)
We configure the pipeline, import existing leads and build the automations for a fixed ₹6,999, and now tell clients up front whether their integration plan fits inside that 5,000-call/day free-tier ceiling or needs a paid plan: Zoho CRM Setup & Onboarding.
Disclosure: I work on ZoopCoder, a small India-based dev shop — both service links above are ours, priced and scoped as shown. Posting because both numbers above are the kind of thing that's easy to promise past without realising, and the vendor docs are the actual source of truth.
