Wrapped up the day feeling a mix of relief and reflection.
📘 Big Data Prep
First things first, I finally completed the entire Big Data syllabus for tomorrow’s exam.
It's been a stretch going through all the topics, but I’m glad I paced it out over the past few days. Really hoping the paper goes well tomorrow!
💻 Project Kickoff
Apart from that, I took the first step on a the project i talked about earlier, a URL Shortener built with Ruby on Rails.
Got PostgreSQL installed and running, and created the initial model file: shortened_url.rb. Haven’t added much logic yet, but setting things up correctly always feels satisfying.
Planning to slowly build it up over the week, maybe even add tracking and expiration features later on.
Honestly, that’s all I managed today, I tried to stay productive without overloading myself before the exam.
Ending the day on a somber note though. Really saddened to hear about the plane crash in Ahmedabad. It’s just one of those moments where everything else feels small. Sending strength to everyone affected.
Here’s to a better tomorrow, in every way.
