The feedback that helped me most
was never the comfortable kind.
It stung. I got defensive.
Then, days later, I knew they were right.
Somewhere we learned to hear criticism
as an attack on who we are.
It's usually the opposite.
The person who tells you the hard thing
is the one who bothered to care.
Silence is easier for them.
The honest note cost them something.
So separate the message from the sting.
Keep the message.
Thank the person, even when it's hard.
Nobody grows on praise alone.
