The fastest way to lock in
something you just learned
is to teach it to someone else.
You don't have to be an expert.
In fact, being one step ahead
often makes you a better teacher —
you still remember
what it felt like
to not understand.
When you try to explain it,
you find the holes immediately.
The part you thought you got
falls apart the moment
you have to say it out loud.
That's not failure.
That's the lesson
showing you where it isn't finished.
So learn something,
then find someone
half a step behind you
and walk them through it.
Write the post.
Answer the question.
Explain it to a colleague at lunch.
You'll help them,
and you'll cement it for yourself
far deeper
than reading it again ever could.
Learn it once.
Teach it once.
Now it's actually yours.
