Hello,
I'm currently at a crossroads in my tech career and could really use some advice. I love coding in general, and I have experience in front-end and some back-end development, but I’ve also studied Security+ and Network+, which got me interested in cybersecurity (especially pentesting & network security).
With AI and automation changing the industry, I’m struggling to decide which field has a more stable future. Web development is great, but will it still be in demand long-term? Or would cybersecurity be a better career path?
For those who work in web development or cybersecurity, how do you see the future of these fields evolving? Any insights on job stability, growth potential, or industry demand would be really helpful!
Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

I get the dilemma—web dev vs. cybersecurity is a big choice. Web dev’s still solid; websites and apps aren’t going away, but AI might shrink basic front-end jobs. Back-end or niche skills should keep you safe, though growth could slow. Cybersecurity’s booming—pentesting and network security especially. With more digital everything, it’s stable and growing, even with AI helping out.
Maybe mix them? Secure web dev is a thing. I’d pick cybersecurity for longevity, but web dev works if you stay sharp. What do you like most about each? That might decide it. Good luck!
Really appreciate the thoughtful answer! Thanks a lot!
