Previously we had the #AMA tag as a "requires approval" tag. We also treated it as a "live" thing where interesting folks came on, answered for about an hour, and then left.
We're now changing these to be open to anyone and to stick around for longer. So if you start one, keep answering when you get a chance for about a day or two. As long as you keep answering, it will stick on the home page for a couple of days.
Here is the sidebar widget where AMAs will now have a home.
Put the interesting thing you want to talk about as the title. A good example is:
I switched from software engineering to game development, ask me anything.

Everyone is welcome to start a thread, but make sure to come up with a clear title. Admins may edit your title after the fact if we need to.
Have fun!

Awesome @ben + team! I tried creating an AMA using the "Start an AMA" link in the column, would be nice if that also refilled the tag front matter with ama.
Keep up the great work ya'll!
Whoops, forgot to add that part. It's there now.
Sooo good! Thanks!
