What project did you contribute to for Microsoft ??? I had a hard time looking for one that was beginner friendly. Any suggestions, the oss portal seemed like a good one but the dev environment setup docs were non existent.
I found some Azure starters/samples that weren't too bad to contribute to. There are a lot out there with outdated dependencies and pretty skimpy docs.

Same! I was looking for Android projects and the libraries and repos seemed archaic! I had so many questions and the project has a modicum amount of issues raised 3 years ago.

I completed the challenge first day. Perks of being full-time #OpenSourcerer. My first PR of October was for Dev.to I think. Also contributed to Microsoft repos. Did you already get a t-shirt from MSFT? I have not. What am I missing?
Yes! I've been mainly pushing directly to Learn Code from Us though for efficiency purposes, or else I'd have a lot more there! Same with Zen of Programming.
Just about! Unfortunately only four of my PRs were to projects that weren't on my account, so I suppose I somewhat cheated.
However, my "How Old Is it?" project received 141 pull requests from 90 people, not counting my own. At least one of those was the final PR someone needed to get their t-shirt, so I am pretty thrilled.
I hope that absolves me of my skirting of the rules. </self-horn-tooting>
I hope everyone had a happy Hacktoberfest! Same time next year? 😎
I did! I wanted to do more, but I spent the first half of the month in the hospital, so I only got like 6 public PRs in. Hopefully I'll do better next month.
Shameless plug for the Pyvideodata project. It's super welcoming for beginners. We index Python videos in every language we can find. Most of the videos we capture are conference talks or meetup presentations. Check it out and consider helping us refine the data, especially if you speak Spanish, Russian, or Japanese.
never met a part of the stack I didn't like. sr. engineer at clique studios in chicago, perpetual creative hobbyist, bird friend, local gay agenda promoter. she/her. tips: https://ko-fi.com/carlymho
Mine says it's going to arrive today! I'm really excited to wear it tomorrow.
For anyone looking to do some last-minute PRs: My friendship circle implementation of the webring concept has some open issues, and I think 24 and 28 should be pretty accessible!

I am self taught developer. Node, React and GraphQL ♥.
I work as Frontend Developer at a StartUp. Learning and building side projects. Interested to work in open source.
Luckily, I completed the challenge few days ago and right after that I fell ill.
Also, received the form from hacktoberfest and filled it out. Now waiting for T-Shirt. Had much fun and Learned a lot. I am definitely going to participate next year.

I managed to make it to 6 this year! I managed to snag the Microsoft shirt and fix some broken docs for Gatsby so I got a t-shirt and stickers for $2 with the coupon code.
Got all my PRs in and my shirt is on its way in a few weeks. I actually get asked about these shirts at meetups and talks, people want to know what projects I contributed to. It's a nice ice breaker.
My hactoberfest 2020 t-shirt has been shipped in November 2020 but the tracking page shows the status of 13th Nov and its not updated since then. So my order is stuck in USA itself. Can someone please help me out?
Bro, I also still didn't received my swags and t-shirt of Hactoberfest. Can anyone help me how to track my order status and also how to get it as soon as possible ☺️
Finished my Hacktoberfest challenge on mid october because I'm afraid I could not make it at the end 😅 Already fill the form and can't wait to wear that t-shirt 😁
Native Android developer/Consultant for Appwise, I work on custom projects for clients.
PHP/JS (web) developer in my freetime. Trying to keep learning in an ever changing tech world.
This was my first year participating to Hacktoberfest, I was able to do 10 PRs 🎉
I was also able to do 3 Microsoft PRs, haven't received a mail for the awesome swag yet though.
To bad that I can't access the stats page anymore.
It was my first time participating and submitted 5 PRs to a repository of a fellow Dev.to community developer. I learned a lot through the process. Haven't received the mail yet to fill the form. Seems like they are sending in batches and I should receive it before October 6.
I did. As usual my plans for Hacktoberfest were much larger than what I was actually able to do.
October is right when we start getting busy at work so my ToDo list got big fast.

Yes!! This was my first time and I'm not exaggerating, my confidence as a developer has increased. I used to be intimidated by open source and interacting with experienced engineers. Never knew that everyone is so welcoming. Ended up with 7 PRs and I have learned so much, especially from Mozilla Focus and SignalApp. I had planned to contribute to 5 more issues in various projects (especially SendGrid) but unfortunately, I'm juggling work and studies and couldn't get enough time. I know Hacktoberfest is over, but for me this is just the beginning. And can't wait for my t-shirt! (Sadly it's gonna take a month to reach here)
I work as Lead Front End Engineer at Maisonette. Currently re-writing a monster of a JavaScript app into atomic React components hitting RESTful Rails endpoints.
This is the first year I actually paid attention to Hacktoberfest, and I was more than happy to be able to contribute. I finished the challenge, even though I was hoping for a few more contributions as well.
Hey there! I'm a software engineer who absolutely loves crafting web applications. Ruby is my go-to programming language, it's just my cup of tea! But hey, there's more to me than just programming.

After graduating with a Law Degree, I decided to stick with my passion for software engineering. Currently focused on learning Javascript. It’s a dream to be able to master it enough to teach it.
I did 5 really basic ones. But it was my first time participating. I’ve sat out the last two years thinking it’s impossible for me to do it, but finally managed this year 😀

There's no feeling quite like the one you get when you watch someone's eyes light up learning something they didn't know.

I contributed to one of the projects listed in the Microsoft open source website but I realised that the repo isn't from Microsoft's account. Does that qualify for the t-shirt? I didn't receive any mail from MS yet
I did! 😄
Yeaaaaaah I also got one from Microsoft 😍 I made 36 PR
What project did you contribute to for Microsoft ??? I had a hard time looking for one that was beginner friendly. Any suggestions, the oss portal seemed like a good one but the dev environment setup docs were non existent.
Same here, I wanted to get one from MS but couldn't find anything noob-worthy.
Same haha I really liked the gophers on the shirt, wanted one. Sadly looking at go code isn't something I'm familiar with quite yet.
Why do you speak about golang ? 😄

I contributed to the Nugget docs I fixed a typo error

What a wonderful octocat 😍
Yeah, definitely easier to commit directly early on projects (or forever depending on project workflow and roles)

Can you track yours ?
Yeah, you should get a tracking number with your shipment email!
Didn't receive this tracking number... Strange
I got this one : ORDER #2366385 how can I track mine ?
You should get a follow-up email from Kotis Design that has a link to track your package, I believe.
Ok thx I'll wait for it
kwf.kotisdesign.com/order_returns/...
That's order return URL not tracking

Congratulations! Hope you get better quickly.
Thank you. Yes, I am getting better day after day. In 2-3 days, I will be ready and submitting more PRs 😂😂
I managed to make it to 6 this year! I managed to snag the Microsoft shirt and fix some broken docs for Gatsby so I got a t-shirt and stickers for $2 with the coupon code.
Almost! I've been busy starting a new job and taking some much-needed vacation. I've got 3 PRs left; think I can get those in the final hours?? 😬
Same situation, is there a possibility if redemption?
I got 3 PRs in the past 5 hours of the 31st and now it's radio silence from them :( not sure how long should I wait
Did you get 5 PRs submitted total?
The challenge is just to submit, not to merge, so you may be all good!
Got all my PRs in and my shirt is on its way in a few weeks. I actually get asked about these shirts at meetups and talks, people want to know what projects I contributed to. It's a nice ice breaker.
Yeahh! I did, already filled out the form, now still waiting for the shipping confirmation :)
BTW: Anyone from Indonesia 🇮🇩 here :)
I posted this comment on 1 nov, but here showing 31 Oct, do I need change my timezones? hahaha :D
Hi Edi! I'm Indonesian too 😁 Congrats anyway!
Hi Harits, Thank You :D
You did a contribution to oh my zsh 😄 congratulations
Thank You Erwan :D

I hit 6/5, but I never got an email or anything?
The same here. In the FAQ they say that you should contact them if you don't receive it by Nov 6th.
Just received the mail.
Ya, I got mine today as well!
didnt received any email, still waiting
Finished my Hacktoberfest challenge on mid october because I'm afraid I could not make it at the end 😅 Already fill the form and can't wait to wear that t-shirt 😁
I did, but only just. Mostly I've been working on my own stuff.
Filled out the form, and now I'm waiting on my shirt.

Yeah managed to get 6 completed this month!!
However didn't receive any confirmation/order email for the shirt. Anyone else not received it yet?
Me also
Ended up getting an email yesterday. Any luck for you?
Nothing. What about you ?
Yes, I did. This was my first time. I really don't know why I missed previous Hacktoberfests.
Unfortunately, I did not. I had a 3 or 4 PRs accepted on a GitLab OSS project, but that doesn't count! 😭
Oh! Doesn't GitLab have its own event every quarter or so?
I wasn't aware of that, but I'll have to look into it! Thanks!
Fun-ish fact, I learned back in 2015 or 2016 that my country is not eligible for any of the prices, so now I don't send PR's in October 😄
Yep :) now we wait :)
Yep, including one to a GitHub repo for their Explore feature.
I did 5 really basic ones. But it was my first time participating. I’ve sat out the last two years thinking it’s impossible for me to do it, but finally managed this year 😀
I did! I'm so happy! I also got one from Microsoft.
YASSSSS!
I made the pull request 1 week ago but didn't get any e-mail for tee shirt till now :(
I did! Which is exciting. But, even more exciting is that I think I found a project that I can grow into as I learn python!
Order placed an shipping confirmation received :)
I made it with 13 contributions to complete the Hacktoberfest challenge along with the Open at Microsoft challenge and the source{d} challenge.
I contributed to one of the projects listed in the Microsoft open source website but I realised that the repo isn't from Microsoft's account. Does that qualify for the t-shirt? I didn't receive any mail from MS yet
All done 🎉
Just barely, but YES!
Got it as well! Will have to wait quite a while (around 1 month and a half 😟 ), before I can wear it in Barcelona.
Yaaaa, I got T-Shirt too.
I made 7 PRs but I haven't received an email or anything else(
Still waiting for email, completed the challenge though.
I did! :D
Placed my order and waiting for it to be shipped 😄
I got the T-Shirt now, the quality of the cloth is too bad!!!!
I also make 5 PRs. Let's see if I can also get a Hacktoberfest t-shirt 😋
I work on RTD so that is like cheating, but I did 5 PRs to other repos
I missed my hacktober fest 2019 swags, because of wrong address, so it's not delivered to me, how should I get it back !! ?
