#codenewbie
CodeNewbie is an online organization on DEV for new coders. Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive space where fellow beginners can connect, ask questions, and share experiences and insights. But we don't want to create this community in a vacuum. We want your input! So tell us, please:
- What do you need in an online community?.
- What kind of content would you like to see?
- What topics do you want to discuss?
- Basically: How can we make this community as welcoming and helpful as possible for you?
Collaboration is key to achieving our mission
We want to work together with our community to build a platform that truly meets the needs of our members.
So, if you're a new coder (or new at heart), we invite you to share your thoughts and ideas with us. Drop your thoughts in the comments and we'll take your feedback into account as we build this community and work to make it the best possible resource for you!

Perfect! I need to ask questions about website development. I just asked a follower a responsiveness problem, I really feel like I am writing a little too much and useless code for mobile view, and feel that I spend too much time on it... this is one of my problems at the moment. I would also love to have some ideas on creating great and unique portfolios. JavaScript is another one of my priorities, so JavaScript content would be perfect also!!
As regards, the responsiveness, I'll advice you incorporate more css attributes like flex and grid for displaying your Contents, they are inherently responsive and will make your code to be easily responsive on any screen size, so you won't need to add too many media queries unnecessarily.
Another thing that I do and that has helped me, is to start with the desktop design first, it also makes your code neater.
I hope this helps
Great!! Thank-you for the advice. I'll study that part of CSS in further detail, since I was not really taught the importance of flex and grid during the course I took. I discovered later on that my websites were not that responsive.
Thanks!! I really really appreciate it!!!
Wish you the best!!

JS is a great language to learn!
I want a mentor like friend who can support me to improve my coding skills. I want to focus on concepts of Java, python. With this community, i may have opportunity to interact with people and can learn.
I think it would be great to have accountability buddies within an online community, especially for self-taught developers. It would be great to have a community that can hold us accountable and motivate us throughout the journey 😃
Also, through accountability buddies, people can find a way to do learn in public through content creations, as well as (linear) mentorships.
I think like code challenges in any language.
It is as beneficial for new developers as it is for those who already know their way around.
Helping each other, while having challenges, you can participate or not! ✨
