One idea, several connected systems
What if industrial hemp could become part of a circular supply chain for essential everyday products?
What if materials used in sanitary pads, diapers, packaging, and other absorbent products could be designed with better traceability, lower environmental impact, and a measurable recovery process?
My vision connects several worlds that are normally discussed separately:
- Industrial hemp
- Circular economy
- Sanitary pads and diapers
- Italy and Japan
- My banking relationship with Banco BPM
- Token infrastructure and Singapore
- Digital traceability
- Artificial intelligence
- Environmental and social impact
This is not an announcement of completed partnerships or a financial offer. It is a description of the direction I am exploring and the system I would like to build.
Why industrial hemp?
When I refer to cannabis in this context, I am primarily referring to industrial hemp and its potential non-intoxicating applications.
Hemp can produce useful fibers and biomass. Depending on the manufacturing process, these materials may have applications in:
- Textiles
- Packaging
- Construction materials
- Cellulose-based products
- Absorbent components
- Composite materials
- Biomass recovery
The interesting question is not whether hemp can replace every existing material.
The real question is:
Where can hemp-based materials provide a measurable environmental, industrial, or social advantage?
That requires research, laboratory validation, regulatory compliance, safety testing, and lifecycle analysis.
Sanitary pads and diapers
Sanitary pads and diapers are essential products. They also create a complex waste-management challenge because they may contain multiple layers of plastic, cellulose, adhesives, absorbent polymers, and organic material.
A circular approach should consider the entire lifecycle:
- Material sourcing
- Product design
- Manufacturing
- Distribution
- Consumer use
- Collection
- Separation or treatment
- Recovery or responsible disposal
- Measurement of environmental impact
Industrial hemp could potentially contribute fibers or cellulose to specific product components, but this must be demonstrated through technical testing.
Absorbency, hygiene, skin safety, durability, comfort, sterilization, and legal compliance cannot be assumed.
The objective is not to attach a sustainable label to a conventional product. The objective is to redesign the material and data flows around that product.
Circularity requires data
A material is not circular simply because it is natural.
A credible circular system needs evidence:
- Where did the raw material originate?
- How was it cultivated?
- Which processing methods were used?
- What resources were consumed?
- Which manufacturer transformed it?
- What is the product composition?
- Can its components be separated?
- How was the product collected?
- What was actually recovered?
- Which claims can be independently verified?
This is where digital infrastructure becomes important.
A platform such as MyZubster could create a record for every relevant event:

Each observation could include:
- Timestamp
- Location
- Product or batch identifier

My connection with Japan
Japan is important to this vision because of my personal connection with the country and my interest in its culture of quality, process discipline, material innovation, and long-term thinking.
I see a possible bridge between Italian creativity and Japanese industrial precision.
Italy can contribute:
- Design
- Agriculture
- Manufacturing traditions
- Entrepreneurship
- European market knowledge
Japan can inspire or potentially contribute:
- Process optimization
- Material science
- Product quality
- Hygiene-product expertise
- Automation
- Circular-design practices
This does not mean that a formal Japanese partnership already exists. It represents a direction for dialogue, research, and future collaboration.
A credible Italy–Japan project should begin with a defined pilot, measurable objectives, and clearly identified participants.
The role of Banco BPM
Banco BPM is part of my existing banking context. Mentioning the bank does not imply that it has endorsed, financed, or partnered with this project.
However, traditional banking would be important if the concept progresses.
A real circular-economy initiative needs conventional financial foundations:
- A registered legal entity
- Transparent accounting
- Payments and treasury management
- Supplier verification
- Financing plans
- Risk assessment
- Anti-money-laundering controls
- Auditable financial flows
Blockchain or tokens do not replace these requirements.
The relationship between banking and digital infrastructure should be complementary:
Banking system → regulated money and accounting
Digital ledger → operational records and traceability
Tokens → limited, explicitly defined digital rights or incentives
Before involving any bank publicly, the project would need a formal proposal supported by technical, commercial, environmental, and legal documentation.
Why Singapore enters the picture
Singapore is relevant to my research because it is an international center for technology, trade, fintech, and tokenization.
