God I hate the whole concept of people having to prove their worth. It's just such a problematic framing, and it reinforces so many of the antiquated, anachronistic ideas that we've been trying to move beyond as of late.
I show my passion for my job and start asking to learn about the problem the hirer is currently focusing on.
Also, I learn about the services and customer view of the enterprise I want to get hired by ;-p
