This week we launched the first episode of CodeNewbie Podcast's Season 25 ! It was a long anticipated launch and I redid the graphics for the new season prior, so the release felt a lot more satisfying. Happy to see how it goes!

It’s a little off topic, but I get to go on a weekend trip just my wife and I. We haven’t gotten to do any trips like this just the two of us in eight years, so I’m rather excited.

Got my new virtual machine to compile and run. Didn't work but it's getting to hello world. Right now it's 4k lines of code which is just the start but it's taking form.

Got my first freelance gig approved and a request for more. So I'll be working on that. This was an accomplishment from way back but it got published this week, the 5th and final interview I did with Adam Bien is up.

No win on my side this week. Been doing some automation testing on our web app using Selenium and Python and l'm still stuck. It's been days since l started working on it and am too far from winning.

All good! Sometimes it's like that. But, I bet you're getting closer... figuring out the things that don't work is still progress.

Dove into the doldrums of our software's workflow engine... wrote company wiki article about it. Pumped out a few PR's to add new states and transitions. Happy to see them accepted and get merged. Also worked on adding new data reports... sounds boring, but nice to add value...

  • I posted two blog entries this week - part 4 of my cycle on spiral patterns, and an unrelated one about laying out dots on a dice using CSS :nth-child, :is and :not pseudo-classes and display: flex (and also made a 3D dice doing the same but with display: grid)
  • Part 3 of said cycle is apparently "Trending in CSS" this week :O
  • Getting back into SVG and making a lot of fun discoveries. E.g. I had no idea even viewBox was animatable :D
  • Following my recent (re)discovery of the sheer joy of swimming while on holiday, wife and I decided to make it a regular thing. Testing local swimming pools - a quarter of a century after I last visited one.
