I recently posted the tools I use to grow developer-first products.
This included:
- Dub: create and manage short links
- Typefully: draft and schedule social posts
- ray.so by Raycast: create code images
It also included GitHub as a CMS, and someone asked:
How is GitHub being used as CMS?
How I used GitHub as a CMS:
- Add content ideas in
Issues
- Start writing β when done, create a
Pull Request
- Request reviews and iterate
- When ready, merge commits
It might sound counterintuitive to use GitHub as a CMS.
For me, it's key.
When you're targeting a technical audience, i.e. people who use GitHub daily, using GitHub as a CMS helps you talk like your customers β it helps you keep developer-focused.
From my perspective, it's essential when you do marketing to developers.
