New analysis from Bloomberg reveals that former Google CEO Eric Schmidt holds approximately 1% of Anthropic.
The stake originates from a multi-million dollar investment during the company's 2021 Series A round.
This holding, alongside other AI-focused investments like Mistral, reflects Schmidt's continued involvement in shaping the artificial intelligence market.
That compares to the 2% held by Anthropic CEO and co-founder Dario Amondei. With the company expected to go public before the end of the year, its total value is estimated by leading sources to be as high as $2 trillion.
Since stepping down as Google CEO in 2011, Schmidt has invested in technology companies through ventures such as Tomorrow Ventures, Innovation Endeavors Management and Hillspire. His portfolio also includes other AI companies such as Mistral, General Intuition and Reflection AI.
Eric Schmidt's total net worth is estimated by Bloomberg at $57,5 billion. So far, neither Schmidt himself nor Anthropic have responded to requests for comment.

1% of Anthropic is still a hefty chunk given their valuation—curious if it's a personal bet or strategic positioning.
