Will programmers become obsolete?

With AI's rapid advancements in coding, some speculate that programmers may become obsolete, as AI models increasingly handle base-level development. This has raised concerns about the future of programming education and whether newcomers should even invest in learning to code.

AI experts weighed in on the debate today, strongly opposing the idea. They called claims that AI will replace programmers one of the worst career advice ever given, arguing that such statements are harmful and misleading. While some experts predict that AI will eventually program itself, some believe coding remains a valuable skill for the future.

What do you think, will AI automate programming, or is learning to code still essential?

If AI ever replaces coders, by that point it'll probably also be good enough to replace most other jobs, including being able to control robots to take care of most manual labour.

At that point, humanity will either have overcome the thought that everyone needs to have a job, or we will live in a neo-feudalist dystopia. Either way, if that happens, it doesn't matter if you "wasted" time learning to code.

There's nothing to lose, but a lot to gain.
