I got my first paycheck after career change!
It is neither a dev job nor a huge amount, but still, it feels really amazing. ✨🥳
➕ My apology for the lengthy comment, but I have to brag this as well.
Thank you, everyone, on Dev.to❣️ This is way much bigger celebration then I expected.
Congrats!
Thank you very Ben!🥰
I’m looking forward to a day I can submit ”your win this week” as ”I got my first paycheck as a dev!”. 🤩
Congrats!
Good Times!
Two wins:
I gave my first ever talk at Codeland!
And the book I contributed a chapter to launched:

What a week!
Thanks! And it was great meeting you (and the rest of the crew) again!
Hopefully we keep meeting up again and again for a long time!
Congratulation! That's amazing. So it was THE first talk EVER, right? So cooool.
I just saw Codeland about one hour before. Same on me.
Really want to hope I also to give a talk there one day!
Yes, it was my first! (I've spoken at a Meetup, but never at a conference).
Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll get there!
Wow. Truly amazing.
🥶 Thanks! I'm looking forward to it happening. #treacherous
Oh, you'll do great!
Wow congrats!!!!!
What a week!
Truly!!! We went on vacation right after the 10k so it’s barely even started to sink in!
Triple congratulations! It must have been an epic week.
And, wish your "happy ever after"!
thanks so much! it truly was a busy one!
I am sorry to ask but What is 10k? ☺️
a 10km race!
This was an awesome week for the DEV team! We got to launch a book, bring some of our team together for Codeland Conf, and play a scavenger hunt across Brooklyn!
I need to know more about this scavenger hunt
+1 how was your detail of scavenger hunting. tried to stalk Jess's tweeter, but failed.
Congratulation for working with such an amazing team!
I had a great phone interview on Tuesday! So great that they asked me to come back for an in person interview/coding challenge! I’ll be spending next week getting mentally prepped for that because my in person interview is on Monday the 5th. Woo! This job would be a huge step forward in my web development career.
Congrats!!
Fingers crossed! :D
Published a blog 2 weeks consecutively 😁
Woohoo keep it up!
Good luck with 22 continuous week and more after that!
Wow, quadruple wins! I envy you for the first one. I just saw it one hour before. 😭Hope to meet you there, in the future!
I finally got around to learning basic SASS (I've been meaning to do so for a while now), and then immediately applied that knowledge to improve load times for the web app I've been working on by using SASS imports to cut down on the total number of style sheets that need to be fetched. In all, it made the app load almost 3.5 seconds faster on a simulated 3G network.
This week, I... landed 2 short term clients - one shopify and one mobile UI design gig! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Edit:
Plus I'm half way through the NPO's website that I'm developing. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This week my team and really my whole company had a HUGE product release and launch that went super smoothly and I'm really happy about it! I lead one of the teams that was responsible for a lot of the work and I couldn't be prouder of my team and what we were able to build!
I work at Betterment and we launched a NEW Savings product that took a ton of work from a lot of different teams internally! We ALSO announced a new Checking product that is coming out in the near future!
You can signup for the checking waitlist and find out more about Savings, and our new Everyday offerings below!
(NOTE: This following IS a personal referral link that will boost me higher in the checking waitlist)

My article on the 10 NASA rules pissed a lot of people, it's pretty awesome to confront an idea to so many people and to see you've got the finger onto something (or maybe that I'm plain stupid, another option to be considered)
TIL! nice article
Going to Codeland and seeing the team IRL! So much fun!! 😀
I spent the whole week at work creating e2e tests with cypress.
Not the most funny thing to do, but it's a big deal because it would allow us to test really important user flows before each deployment!
Learned so much! :)
ive got quite a few.
crossed my monthly target of 50 articles (1000 words) for a client im currently ghostwriting for.
got an offer for a new writing gig with much better perks than current one. still reviewing. will most likely say yes.
played my fav songs of beyonce's new album 2000+ times, basically humming them in my sleep now.
was able to spend more time with my dog. really missed her!
Nailed the tech interview for my dream job!
Wow. Congratulations!
After nearly one month of effort to migrating from java 8 to java 11, I was able to pass all 2000 test cases in our product. That was really stressful to work with more than hundred of Github repositories and make it all support to java 11. Most of the test failure were due to class finding issues in OSGi. However, we were able to manage it and stable the product.
you, my friend, are a god! congrats
I finally started my own tech blog and I'm really proud of my first post! I'm still a newbie in writing but I always wanted to try it! 🥳
It's a tutorial post but it also helped me understand more about my code and what is happening behind the curtains! :D

Started learning rust and getting back into lower level coding after spending way too long in web land! Managed to port some old projects from mac to windows and get them working 100% in only a few days!

I learnt react native (new thing) this week. Now I have become full stack mobile developer. I can write Android (Java and Kotlin), iOS (Swift), Backend ( nodejs and nosql) and React Native (Android and iOS).
Turning 43 and celebrating with my in-laws (I'm too many countries away to celebrate with my family). Baking a Dalek cake and organising a BBQ and managing to keep everything gluten free so that the three people with coeliac didn't get ill!
I learned how aperture and shutter speed works in DSLRs and saw the successful launch of the book I contributed a chapter in... super happy

My win was that I met all my goals in one week, rarely does that happen due to too many things getting in the way.
My week did not start very well, with some sommer virus (no details here ;-)).
So first day(s) I was not with any additional forces to do any side-project related work.
But... as so much in life, bad happenings can have right sides, we need to take them :-)
My one was, I had some time to think in my next steps.
On one side, I decided to put a brake on the development of my job boards and underlying boardengine.io and focus there only on marketing and sales until I have some $ output out of it. On the other side, I decided to start my kunvenu.com project, which is service to make meetings productive, having people, input and output, and dates/locations in one place.
Now, as Anti-Virus is finally working, I started with first definitions of scope to test idea better and soon jump into "shipping."
I redesigned my personal website's navigation menu, and I was so happy with how it looked I posted a screenshot to DeviantArt!
Just published my 5th blog post with consistency :)
I hope I can keep my motivation for the next week as we are going to be on a holiday.
This week I had my first post to cross 100 reactions and 1000 views.
How I use JavaScript Promises

My most recent in-person talk had record-breaking attendance for the largest AWS group in Toronto.
I learn a lot of React
I convinced my coworkers to use Vue.js in a Django project with the intention to restructure it and make it really great (right now the project is kind of a mess :/).
Nothing 🤷♂️🤷♂️
My Wife and I had our second kid, James!
After about a week of struggling, I finally was able to deploy something on Kubernetes at work 😭
Finished translating all my blog content from Portuguese to English 😊
Wrote some pretty sweet Brs's 😆😆
Got try-catches working that allowed me to remove some weird edge case logic I had put in my code earlier!
Been on the job search since March but I feel like I got a bit of an influx on interviews this week. Also finished my first Webflow project and published it to my portfolio.
I've finally started to really understand JavaScript
I got a new job! Get to be fully backend now :)
This week I published two posts and learned a lot of React Fundamentals. Great week as I continue to focus on a future career change.
This week my blog has already ended one year. The blog is only about Git and is written in Polish.
I just made my linkedin profile and nearly done with my portfolio site. If you are reading this i would appreciate it if we could connect.

I had a job interview/screening that I think went well. At least the recruiter gave me homework that was questions to fill out for the team(s) that were interested, so I guess it means I passed. :)
Learned Hashicorp's Packer tool.
Learned how to work with AWS S3 pre-signed URLs in Ruby on Rails.
First payday since starting my new role.
Pretty much acing a test in uni about graphics rendering technology, focusing on ray tracing and related tech
