This week, I went to the gym 3 times after several years of failing to find a suitable way to fit it into my schedule. Late evening is the best time and the thought had never occurred to me until now.
Exactly! Also, there is usually significantly fewer people there. And, since I live close by, I can go straight in my gym clothes then back, take a shower home and wash the sweaty uniform right away.
Ah that's so nice! I like to think I'd go to the gym more often if it was close by. My gym is a 40 min subway commute involving a very long walk in the winter or two transfers 😒

This week, I had my last day at work after 8 years working in data analysis in a hospital. This week is the start of my career shift into software development (with a focus in freelancing/contract work). Next step: a detailed plan.

This week, I and another teammate created a handbook for new team members. It is not intended to substitute having someone act as a shepard for new members. But, it is intended to help structure who we are, how we work together, and how to get stuff done.
Hi, I'm Thomas, chief developer of the SBTCVM project, and all around artist and programmer. I do have more of an understanding of balanced ternary than most i would say.
This week, I Wrote a lossless decompression algorithm for my SBTCVM project.
To my knowledge, its possibly the first time a compressed image was ever displayed by a balanced ternary computer, virtual or not. :D
Its nothing too fancy, just a basic Run-length encoding, but it did cut the size of a test image from 1350 Nonets to just 434. 866 Nonets when you include the decoder.
This week, I.... actually put a small project online instead of letting it wither and gather dust in a folder. Genus Absurdus produces fake Latin names with some Latin prefixes and suffixes scraped from a few sources. It's stupid but was fun to make.
This week, I fully set up my home office!
Not a gif but...
Woah! That desk is AWESOME!!
I want that sunlight . <3
Yeah i miss that sunlight at my home office too!
This week we went open with our Skylight performance data!
DEV Community Is Open-Sourcing Its Performance Metrics via Skylight
Ben Halpern
This is a really cool initiative. Are you planning to share your traffic metrics the same way?
This/Last week, I landed a job as an SRE at elastic.co! WHOO!

Congrats!
WOOHOO Elastic!!!! They just published a blog of mine on their User's blog space about how we have scaled Elasticsearch at Kenna.
ENJOY your new gig!
This week, I made my very first blog post ever (and here on DEV)! And it got more attention than I expected.
Thanks for the contribution 🙌
you got a link to it handy?
Sure! Here you go:
My first DEV PR and post!

This week, I started to work on a videogame with my little sister who's a 3D modeler 😁
Cool!!
This week, I did fix a tricky bug... which the senior architect was not able to fix.
Nice!
This week, I wrote and ran my first automated test script using Selenium/WebDriver!
Do you have repo for this?

Heck yeah! I've been doing mornings a lot more but prefer evenings because I'm not rushed.

I'd never go! 😅
This week, I returned from a ski trip where I did NOT hurt myself.
This week, I worked on the animations and overall design of DevLids.com. Mainly added a new font, Plex Mono, and tweaked the lid-motions.
That's really cool!
Finally getting my inputs recognized in our project! 🎉

Whoo!! Good luck!!

That's definitely a resource that new team members appreciate -- but is overlooked at so many companies!
This week, I was able to remove 10gb of daily logs from SumoLogic ingestion.
Oh wow, that's a lot of $$$ saved. Nice one!
15gb more to go. Just need to work with devs.

yesss!!

Awesome, congrats!
Nice! First times for certain events come at all different paces and different orders in our industry.
