Domain market is a competitive one. The prices for a single domain can vary from couple of bucks to seven or eight figures.

dev.to was ~$300... Most expensive domain I've ever bought (personally that is... forem.com was more expensive.)

Domain prices are scams. Resale of domain names doubly so.
I think the most I've personally paid for one is about £22/year for a .scot name,

25€. I search new domains with the 'beast mode' on namecheap, set up to display domains cheaper than 30€.
I don't like the business around domain names
