I didn't build NextStep AI because I had all the answers.

I built it because I once had none.

I had chosen computer science, and in our minds, Python was the pinnacle - a one-way ticket to success.

I enrolled in Information Technology, and all I had was Skillrack - a coding platform like LeetCode but simpler, more beginner-friendly. So I kept solving problems in Python, C, and Java, genuinely believing that this alone would land me a dream job. I had high hopes, but zero clarity.

What I didn't know was:

Tech careers aren't built just on languages - they're built on direction.

Until the end of my second year, I had no idea what "domains" even meant. Full stack? AI/ML? Cybersecurity? Data science?

They were just words floating around in random conversations.

Deep inside, I was always curious about AI/ML - it fascinated me since school - but as time passed, I drifted toward frontend development.

Why?

Because it was easier to get started, and most of my friends were doing it.

Then came a turning point.

I attended a webinar hosted by Nxtwave. That's where I heard something that finally clicked:

"Whatever domain you choose, you need full stack to showcase it."

It was like a lightbulb moment. I realized:

So, I dove in.

I ended up wasting nearly two years of college without any structured guidance or clear domain understanding.

That's when it hit me:

If I felt lost, surely thousands of other students must be feeling the same.

That's when I decided to build a solution.

Armed with just 3 months of learning in Generative AI, I poured my curiosity, experience, and frustration into building NextStep AI - a personal AI copilot to help students:

The idea for NextStep AI didn't come from a textbook - it came from frustration.

I was a student who wasted two years of college navigating in the dark. I tried Skillrack, practiced Python and Java, dabbled in frontend because friends were doing it, and attended random webinars. But there was no clear path, no clarity on domains, no guide saying, "Hey, based on your interests and background, here's what you should do next."

So I decided to build that missing guide.

For the past three months, I've been diving deep into Generative AI - not just ChatGPT, but LangGraph, LangChain, LLMs, multi-agent architectures, and real-time reasoning systems. I didn't want a chatbot. I wanted a thinking system.

That's because I've integrated Gemini, which unlike APIs like SERP_API_KEY or TAVILY_API_KEY (which have free usage limits) isn't freely accessible for extended non-enterprise use. This tool is still in its prototype stage, created with an educational intent to support students like me.
