MY CSS JOURNEY BLOG POST 1

My Web Development Journey: When Design Concepts Finally Clicked

I decided to start blogging this part of my journey because this is when it clicked in my head that I have to start.

Today I learnt about some design concepts designers apply in designing, especially in web development. I got to know the importance of:

  • Contrast
  • Layout
  • Composition
  • Whitespace

I also got to actually know the meanings of these two abbreviations:

  1. UI: User Interface
  2. UX: User Experience

To be honest, I did not know the true meanings of these two abbreviations, so I was surprised when I found out what they stood for!

Anyways, I have learnt a few things more during my journey and I see that consistency, discipline, and practice help in learning web development—especially practicing if you are new to it.

I wrote this because it was such a lightbulb moment for me when these design concepts finally clicked!

I'm really curious—for those of you who have been on this journey a bit longer, what was the moment things finally started making sense in your web dev or CSS learning? Or if you're a beginner too, what concept tripped you up the most at first?

Let's chat in the comments! 👇
