This is the web edition of the Behind the Helm, Scaleway's monthly Kubernetes newsletter. For the best Kubernetes news in your inbox every month, subscribe today!

Hello lovely subscribers!

September is wrapping up, and autumn is fast approaching. This month’s edition of Behind The Helm is here with its usual round-up of blog posts, podcasts and events news to keep you up to date with the cloud native world.

Blogs & news

The legacy K8s repositories installable through yum and apt are now frozen as of September 13th; for new updates to these repositories you’ll need to pull from the new registry at k8s.io.

Author Eyal Bukchin has written an excellent blog post comparing three local development tools for Kubernetes: Telepresence, Gefyra, and mirrord. Check it out to learn all about these tools and how they can improve your development experience!

Podcast episodes

The Kubernetes Podcast has a couple of excellent episodes out this month, including an interview with Grace Nguyen about the 1.28 release. Grace was the release lead for this version, so if you want a peek behind the scenes at what actually goes into a release cycle, be sure to give it a listen!

Events

Kubernetes Community Days UK is happening on the 17th and 18th October. If you’ll be near London around then, definitely consider attending!

May your deployments be smooth and your pipelines never fail.
