"Story of a Single Girl: Is It My Fault I Have No Job?"

I am 22 years old.
I graduated in Chemistry.
I am jobless.

Everyone taunts me that education is priceless.
And everyone taunts me that I am single.

Is it my fault?

This is what it feels like to hold a degree in one hand and emptiness in the other.

People say "education is an investment". But no one tells you what to do when that investment gives no return.

Every family gathering feels like an interview.

Every relative asks the same question: "Did you get a job yet?"

And when you say "No", they quickly add: "At least you are not married yet."

Like being jobless and being single are the same crime.I wrote this because I am tired of pretending I am okay.
I wrote this because silence makes the taunts louder.
I wrote this because maybe someone else needs to know they are not alone.

It is not your fault. The system is broken, not you.

To all the "single, jobless graduates" out there - we are not failures. We are just in the middle of our story.
