That's the trap.
We read confidence
as competence.
A steady tone,
clean prose,
no hedging —
it feels true.
But the model isn't telling you
what's true.
It's telling you
what's likely to come next
in a sentence.
Usually those overlap.
Sometimes they don't.
And when they don't,
nothing in the delivery
warns you.
The fluent wrong answer
is more dangerous
than the obvious one,
because it slides past
your guard.
So treat confidence
as decoration,
not evidence.
Ask for the reasoning.
Check the claim
that matters most.
Run the code
before you trust
the paragraph about it.
The model is a brilliant intern
who will never say
"I'm not sure."

to be unsure
on its behalf,
and to check
before you ship
what it said so smoothly.
