Dynamics Tell the Story

Loud is not intensity.

A wall of sound at full volume
has nowhere left to go.

The intensity lives
in the change —
the quiet bar
before the loud one,
the breath before the hit.

A whisper means nothing
without a shout to measure it against.
A shout means nothing
if everything is a shout.

Beginners play everything
at the same level.
It's exhausting to hear.

The players you remember
leave room.
They pull back
so they have somewhere to build to.

Same in a sentence.
Same in a design.
Same in a talk.

The contrast is the message.
The soft part
is what makes the loud part land.

Don't fill every space.
Leave some quiet
for the loud to mean something.
