the breath where one thing
becomes another.
Most people practice
what already feels good.
They run the passage they've got
and skip the corner they don't.
So the corner never gets better.
The pros do the opposite.
They isolate the transition,
the two bars nobody claps for,
and run it until
the seam disappears.
It's the same everywhere.
The work isn't in the tasks.
It's in the switches between them,
the places you lose the thread.
Practice the seams.
That's where it breaks,
so that's where it's won.
