Why I Built a Zero-Cost GCC Labour Law & Financial Calculator Hub

Calculating statutory dues across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has always been surprisingly fragmented. Most expatriates and small business owners rely either on decade-old Excel templates or outdated web forms that miscalculate legal formulas.

For example, under Kuwait Labour Law No. 6/2010 (Article 55), computing an employee daily wage requires dividing the basic salary by 26 working days. Yet, almost every standard online calculator divides it by 30 calendar days, creating substantial accounting discrepancies. Similarly, the transition between Oman Royal Decree 35/2003 and Royal Decree 53/2023 requires a clear split calculation for service tenures.

To solve this, I engineered GulfCalc, an unmetered, privacy-first web property dedicated to GCC statutory mathematics.

Technical Architecture
Client-Side Math Engine: All calculation algorithms execute entirely in the user browser using Vanilla JavaScript. There are zero database round-trips and zero external API dependencies, ensuring sub-second response times.

Edge Deployment: Hosted on Cloudflare Pages connected directly to a Git repository, providing unmetered bandwidth, automatic universal SSL, and sub-30ms global latency across 300+ data centers.

Legal Compliance Hierarchy: Every single utility is paired with statutory references, such as the Kuwait Indemnity Calculator adhering to Article 55 and the UAE Gratuity Calculator matching Federal Decree-Law No. 33/2021.

The primary objective was simple: build a clean, ad-free financial utility hub without server overhead, complex frameworks, or tracking bloat.

You can inspect the live implementation directly at gulfcalc.tech. Feedback on the client-side calculation logic and UI state management is welcome.
