We all have that one moment in life that makes us smile whenever we think about it.
You know, the kind of moment where you randomly remember what happened and think, "Wait, did I actually do that?!"
Sometimes it's getting your first job. Sometimes it's publishing your first article, solving a problem that made you want to throw your laptop out the window, or finally achieving something you've been working towards for years.
And sometimes, it's a moment that changes how you see yourself forever.
For me, one of those moments was JEE Advanced.
Even today, when I think about it, I feel that same sense of pride. It's one of those memories that doesn't need a special occasion to make you smile. Just remembering it is enough.
And I think that's what makes these moments so special. They aren't just achievements we add to our resumes or tell people about. They're personal reminders of something we've accomplished that means a lot to us.
We often get so busy chasing the next goal that we forget to appreciate the things we've already achieved. We celebrate for a day, maybe a week, and then immediately start worrying about what's next. Our brains really don't know how to take a vacation, do they? XD
But sometimes, we should pause and give ourselves a little credit. Not because we're better than someone else, but because we know what that moment means to us.๐
And now I'm curious about yours!
What's that one moment in your life that still makes you feel proud whenever you think about it?
It could be a huge achievement, a small personal victory, or something that nobody else understood but meant everything to you.
Maybe it happened years ago. Maybe it happened yesterday.
Let's take a little break from talking about what we want to achieve next and celebrate what we've already done. ๐

JEE Advanced is no joke ๐น Thatโs seriously impressive.
I can totally see why thatโs still one of your proudest moments ๐ฅ
It's my side, probably deciding to live in the Netherlands ๐ธ
It was a huge life decision, but looking back, Iโm still really glad I chose to build my life here.
One of the things I'm most proud of is looking back at the code I've written the old-fashioned way, one line at a time.
Since I wrote every line myself, there's a special sense of accomplishment when everything finally works.
AI can generate code instantly, but that feeling of typing every line by hand, thinking through every piece of logic, and watching a program come to life from scratch is something AI-generated code just can't replace.

Shouldnโt you become One-Punch Man then? ๐
Haha, maybe Iโll become the One-Punch Man of programming someday. ๐๐ป
Got stronger, but also went bald ๐๐ป
Once I reach that level, I won't even need to show off my skills anymore. ๐
Late at night, listening to emo music while coding hits different. Nothing beats that feeling. ๐๐ป๐ง

Proud of you!!! ๐๐ป ๐๐ป๐๐ป
I love this reminder, Divya. ๐ We donโt always have to rush towards the next goal without appreciating how far weโve come. Sometimes, the moments we feel proudest of are the ones that remind us what weโre capable of, especially when we look back at how much effort it took to get there. We deserve to pause and give ourselves credit for those moments, too.
Aww, thank you! ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ Your comment is such a lovely little moment, too! โค๏ธ
After more than 20 years in IT, Iโve worked on countless systems, solved some pretty challenging problems, and built things Iโm genuinely proud of.
But strangely enough, the moment that still makes me smile isnโt my biggest project or most complicated architecture.
Itโs remembering the first time I made something work entirely on my own. No fancy tools, no AI assistants, just curiosity, patience, and a lot of trial and error. ๐
That little feeling of โWaitโฆ I actually built this!โ never really goes away.
Even today, when something Iโve been struggling with finally works, I still get that same excitement.
I guess thatโs what keeps us going. Technology changes, tools evolve, but the joy of creating something from nothing stays the same. โค๏ธ
And honestly, I hope I never lose that feeling.

Yeah this one?
yeah this and what? meme with a man face in stickman body and more..
I really like these kind of dev.to posts!
So, what came to mind pretty quickly for me - I think that must be when I got pretty glowing reviews after one of my first assignments in my first job, which wasn't even coding, but more like business/organization analysis - that project turned out to be a pretty big success ...
So, maybe I missed my real "calling" as an 'analyst', rather than as a developer, because I've always loved interviewing users to gather requirements and find out "what they really want" ...
I still have more fondness for that kind of stuff than for the purely technical stuff (although in later assignments I did increasingly more of the latter and less of the former) - must be that I missed my true calling LOL - but never mind, things go as they go and that's life, it's all good!
P.S. really going completely off topic now, but when I think what I should REALLY have attempted though, instead of development - theoretical physics! It has always fascinated me immensely - but I have no idea if I'd been any good at it, because it's crazy difficult - so yeah maybe it's for the better ;-)
One moment that still makes me feel proud is receiving the Award of Academic Excellence from the Mayor of Ludhiana ๐, along with securing State Rank 9 in the Mathematics Olympiad last year ๐ฅ.

Hahaha Come on, there must be at least one! Tell me that one ๐คฃ
This is a brilliant post honestly. It made me think for quite a while ๐ Still can't come up with one. Maybe TSE? It's a small game that I built myself (no AI, only the documentation and some help from the Godot Discord server).
Thanks for sharing this ๐๐ป:D
Can you rate it out of 10 please ๐ฅน
