I enrolled in a boot camp and my start date is August 14th. I am working on the pre-work for the boot camp and I just learned about computational thinking and pseudocoding.

First of all, thank you. It's a really interesting and worth asking question. I'm reminded of beginning my career. If you ask me, I would focus on _openAI _and _Blockchain _tech. *IoT * is where we are. More and more exiting opportunities and challenges are way up there.
It's important to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.

Programming does have a lot of disciplines that focus around certain parts.
It is a difference if you build an application for the web or for the local desktop. You can also engage in analytics which is more about creating knowledge from questions and stuff.
All 3 examples have different rules, different favourite languages and so forth.
Also there is a meta discipline called DevOps, which is more about automate running stuff.
So if you want to build an application yourself you have an idea on topic and how the user will handle it?
I see--as I am sure you can tell, this is all very new to me! I am just beginning pre-work for a boot camp, so I am learning all of the terms and concepts.
I have an idea, but haven't delved into anything beyond having the idea. Haha.
It would be a cool story, how did you fall in love with code? 😚
Well, I have always loved learning new languages like Spanish, and code is a computer language!
But what really tuned me into coding was the AMC TV series, Halt and Catch Fire. It is a great series and it made me see coding in a new perspective! I highly recommend watching it.

I'm a Product Manager (PM), so I'm managing up - keeping leadership expectations in check, keeping the product focused and the vision tight, working to avoid feature bloat, while also managing down, ensuring deliveries are on time, expectations are being met, any roadblocks are addressed, and ensuring the Eng and Design teams have what they need to succeed.
There's also a lot of product scoping, customer analysis, commercialization, feature exploration, monetization, go to market, etc. Being a PM is basically just being in charge of ensuring the deliverable is the best possible product it can be, and working towards iterating and improving upon it.
When I say "hack", I'm really just meaning slapping together code. I don't do much in the way of refactors, version controls, etc. Basically, if my eng team were doing anything that I do when I'm building my own products, they'd likely be out the door. But I'm not building for prod, I'm building to improve myself, my understanding of the products I'm making, and because it's fun as hell to turn key presses into real, interactive experiences!

After graduating from graduate school, I worked in sales at a trading company for several years. After watching a drama called Silicon Valley on Corona Disaster, I yearned for the IT industry and changed my career to become an engineer.
At first, I was developing mobile apps (scout job app, food delivery app) with React Native, but now I'm working on a wide range of areas including frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a future for me in Japan, so I'd like to work outside of Japan in the future. I joined this community because my skills in development and English are not yet good enough.

A big part of what I'll be doing is blogging - mainly How-To articles teaching you how to get the most out of the technology you very likely have sitting on your desktop right now - how you can use it to save yourself some money, and maybe even make a little on the side! As far as the venues for said blogging goes, my own website (yet to be launched) will act as the central repository for it all, but I've also accepted a position as a contributor to Noted.lol (a fairly prominant self-hosting site), and have decided that my other major outlet will be RIGHT HERE at Dev.to where I've already carved out a corner for myself ( dev.to/redeyed-software ) ... so you can probably expect to see more of me around here as time draws on.
Of course there's the mandatory Discord Server acting as the community Hub, but I've been tossing around this idea aimed at helping to focus the efforts of the community into a few key directions (that I'm calling "Guilds" for the moment), with the intention being that members of the community will have the opportunity to "take a piece of the action" for themselves so-to-speak. In that case, I guess you could say that the RedEyed Software community takes the business of open source development quite seriously, and aims to teach members how to benefit themselves.
One of the principles of open source software development that I believe in quite strongly, (and that you'll see mentioned over and over again anywhere I publish) is that of building upon and improving upon the work of our peers and those who preceeded us. I believe I'm not the only one who uses the term "standing on the shoulders of giants", but I believe you'll see me using it more often than most. I'm hoping that the community I'm building will afford us all a similar opportunity to help one another grow not just professionally, but materially as well.
It seems strange to me that so many in the open source development community struggle to recognise the material value of their work, and seem to have an even harder time communicating that to others. I'd even go as far to say that a significant proportion of open source developers appear to consider that benefiting financially from their work is somehow wrong or not in accordance with the values of the community as a whole.
If there is ONE thing I hope to instill in the members of the RedEyed Software community, it would be to convince them that their work HAS intrinsic value, and to help them explore the many ways that value can be unlocked WITHOUT putting a paywall between our software and anyone who wants to use it on a non-commercial basis.
In fact, if I could get the RedEyed Software community to the point where it is widely-known as a community which teaches its members HOW to make a respectable living as an open source software maintainer - then that would be something I reckon I would feel very proud of indeed.
Sorry for the length of my post - but truthfully, staking my claim to my own corner of Dev.to today is a personal milestone and kind of a big deal to me. I can see my plan coming together, and I'm excited. Hopefully, I'll get a few of you excited as well! 😀
On a personal note, when I'm not coding, I enjoy playing drums in a band - and we're not too bad (at least I think we're not too bad). We even managed to sell one of our songs to the producers of a television show here in Australia back in 2019. The show is called "Fat Pizza: Back in Business" (for the Aussies out there, the song appears in Season 1, Episode 3 at 10:50) The song was called "Do It Again", and is from an album that we recorded years ago but STILL haven't released. So, as an apology for the long post, I thought I might share the secret location I've uploaded it to. My favourite track is definitely #2 - Shudder ... but I think there are a few good, solid tracks on this album and I'm really quite proud of it. If only we could agree on the release ...

Apache OpenOffice is an Office Suite consisting of 4 applications. One for writing, one spreadsheet, one for presentation and one for Database/Forms.
Similar apps are Microsoft Office, Google Office, LibreOffice, WPS Office, NEO Office.

I am soroosh and I just joined dev.to. However it's been almost a year that I've been reading posts in dev.to and since the very first time I found dev.to, I've always wantet to join but didn't felt like writing so much. Now finally I am glad to be here.
A little bit about why I am here: I decided to develop some kind of a django-based CMS, I got pretty excited about it and I even named my unborn product (The name is BiliCMS), then I realized that it's not my first time starting some project all excited about it and some time later getting excited about some other idea and again going through this loop all over. In the way back I discovered a binary encoding scheme that generated a dynamic object.
This is called dynamic unary.
I uploaded a paper on arXiv called "Introduction to Dynamic Unary Encoding."
So long has passed and I am yet to make a public effort to make a proper library for people to use.
What brings me here in an indirect way is that I believe the objects generated by dynamic unary encoding are mathematical objects like numbers are and possible an object called a mathematical particle.
Instead of scaling on value dynamic unary objects scale on State-Space-length. Such that for one State-Space there is room for one bit either parity 1 or parity 0. This then scales to any length. However, even for one bit, by algorithm, it is spinning.
Always the finite state-space consideration for cycle, these objects I'm calling Dynamic Unary Objects, for lack of any other name-idea (DUO), may well be a mathematical particle.
I can and do welcome your feedback on this idea.
Since I am not someone who has had the privilege yet of taking mathematics classes on what it means to work with particles, I'm just getting out to meet folks and ask what we might get out of such a mathematical particle. If indeed that is a valid assignment.
The obvious fact is that DUOs are data-types that run in our current computers so that seems like a good reason to make some more effort with Dynamic Unary. The possible thing is DUO is a mathematical object like a particle.
So, the simplest library I can imagine is just one that makes the data type and some support functions available and the huge idea is that DUOs can be made into a mathematical particle.
In the simplest consideration that these are dynamic numbers. In the huge consideration these are independent objects and possible a mathematical particle.
So feel free to be a teacher with me. I am out over my skis' as they say when straying into Abstract Algebra and particle physics.
I certainly need advice on particles and particle physics.
Also project partners would be interesting for sure.
So who lives forever? I best do something sooner rather than later.
