welcome everyone!
Hi everyone, I’m Matt. Currently I work in healthcare and have a long career in human services. I recently caught the programming and product development bug and started learning front-end development. I intend to make a career change toward front-end. Looking forward to starting to network.
Fun fact: I’ve got too many interests. Feel free to start a conversation about anything, I’m willing to chat 😁
Welcome to the community Matt, it's great to have you onboard.
Thanks!

Will probably focus on mastodon instead of twitter in the future.
Hello
Hi matt, i too started in healthcare and are progressively making the move to programing and developing. Having spent so much time in the healthcare secture ive been struggling to finds ways to switch over. Any tips you've found beneficial ?
I’m still learning right now. My local library offers access to some coursera courses, so I’m taking Meta’s Frontend dev curriculum. It’s pretty good. I am now starting to learn react.
I’d also recommend freecodecamp as a financially friendly option. It sometimes feels like you’re just repeating what you learned in the lesson, but if you stick to it and work on applying it for yourself, you’ll find you are retaining information.
As far as practice, I’ve started building my portfolio from scratch. That’s given me a practical project to work on that will also demonstrate my skills. I’m starting with the HTML structure first. When I get the content how I want it, I’ll start styling with CSS.
