CloseBook: month-end close without the shared spreadsheet checklist

Every month-end, someone owns a checklist: banks, AR, AP, payroll, accruals, flux, lock the period. In many mid-market shops that list lives in a shared sheet that does not show what is blocked, whether required work is done, or who signed off.

CloseBook is a free, local-first month-end close checklist for controllers. Data stays in the browser.

What you get

  • Multi-period close with soft and hard close dates
  • Default mid-market task template (cash, AR, AP, payroll, tax, reporting…)
  • Owners, due dates, blockers, evidence notes
  • Required vs optional progress % and ready-to-close gate
  • Sign-off, clone → next month, CSV

Honest limits

Not an ERP period lock and not audit software. Tailor the default tasks to your entity.
