welcome to dev community
Hello Mate!
Hi there
Hello
Hi I'm also a web dev from india✌️
Good morning!
Indian here
Welcome! You will love it here
Thanks.
I'm starting to love it here
Hi everyone!
Welcome to the dev.to-community!
I'm Martin, I was a Senior Front End Architect / Manager at one of the world's largest interactive agencies, leading Front End Teams for international accounts. In 2018 I quit and now I'm traveling the world as a professional scuba diver and fully remote Senior Front End Architect / Front End Tech Lead for various international clients.
On dev.to I write mostly about modern Front End Development with react.js and next.js, other topics are design and pure code. I love handcrafted CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. However, a proper framework or library is essential for modern Front End Development.
Currently, I'm publishing the weekly "WebDevDigest: A curated list of the top five web development must-reads from last week" and a library of JavaScript functions in 1 line of code which you can also find on npmjs: onelinecode and GitHub: onelinecode.
If I have enough time, I write more in-depth articles about next.js + TypeScript, for example how to create multi-language pages with next export which is on GitHub:next-export-i18n and npmjs: next-export-i18n
I recommend following the general tags webdev, vscode , career and productivity and javascript, react, CSS. Head over to your Dashboard and adjust the tag weight for to personalize your home feed.
Here's a list of articles to start your journey as an successful developer and a great writer:
If you are looking for your next job, I highly recommend to buy the Book De-Coding the Technical Interview Process by Emma Bostian. It is hands down the best preparation for every technical interview.
If you're interested in my articles, follow me on dev.to/martinkr or twitter.com/_martinkr.
In case you have questions or want to get in touch, feel free to contact me on dev.to/martinkr.
And don't forget to start posting today!
Cheers!
Thanks! Really resourceful post. I just followed you.

I'm not on LinkedIn, coz they require a premium account to be able to message someone. Wish you had something abit more free of restrictions like that. A discord maybe or twitter.

Hello everyone!
I'm Ritik Bharti from INDIA learning web dev from last 2 months.
Recently I came across a Blog post in which "Learn in Public" was mentioned so, I decided to implement that from today that's why I created my account on DEV Community and looking forward for learning in public.
One more thing is that I'm an introvert type of person having lack of self confidence in speaking or posting or writing something publicly, I always think too much before posting or speaking or writing something publicly which I want to improve in myself.
👋!
I’m also here because of the Learn in Public article :) I hope you get a lot out of this community!
Opa, sou

Bem vindo ao DEV Ramon!
Hi! I'm Yannick, a seasoned PHP developer from the UK. I already publish content on other platforms and wanted to give dev.to a try 🙂 I write about PHP (obviously), Laravel, and also Docker and other various topics.
Hey Yannick - I'm a PHP/Laravel developer as well. I have both MySQL and PostgreSQL backend experience as well. So my newest ambition is to create Laravel policies... should be fun :) Looks like it is pretty well documented. Have you implemented them yet? If so - any pointers/roadblocks?
Cheers!
Mike
Hey Mike! Yeah policies are well documented, but if I had a recommendation to make it'd be to handle authorisation in form request objects (also used for validation) instead of controllers. This way you keep your controller methods clean and lean
Thank you Yannick!!!!
Hi all, I’m Casey from Perth, Western Australia. I’ve just changed careers to software engineering, starting a new job in a couple of weeks. I’ve learned a lot about motivation and mindset principles so please let me know if you need any tips!
I'll take some tips. I'm switching careers to SW development as well. Currently in a boot camp. I'm all ears. Both literally (I have big ones) and figuratively. :-)
Hi Brady, nice to meet you 🙂 Can I ask what career you are transitioning from? I've come from an admin background, and before that I was a musician/composer.
For beginner mindset tips, I recommend Shawn Wang's Coding Career. It's full of good advice and resources, and helps you develop your core values as a developer.
Some highlights on being a Junior Developer:
NOTE: It can be hard to give advice when you yourself are new. The trick is to write to yourself three months ago. What advice did you need to hear?
Motivation is another story, because what motivates you is unique and personal. I did this free quiz, which gave me my top 3 motivations (Be Unique, Organise, Improve). Knowing these gives me a better grasp on my strengths and weaknesses, so it's a great place to start. If you do do it, I'd love to know what you get🙂
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Such a thorough reply with useful tips inside and links to resources outside. I am grateful you took the time to reply in such a way. You're right in that I'm a sponge right now. I will be visiting all resources and gleaning what I can.
I worked alongside my father in an underground-sprinkler installation and service business he has. I started when I was 13 and am now 34. It's time for something new.
Again, thank you and have a good day, Casey.
No worries and good luck!
Ahoy everyone! I'm an aspiring Android developer/Web developer and an undergrad student. I'm here to learn more about development for now (Currently focused of Android only).
Hit me up for cool projects and hackathons :p
Hello everyone!
My name is Marius Paulikas, and I am currently completing the Coding Dojo bootcamp! In addition, I have a Geography research background, and have worked extensively with natural hazards, census data, and ArcGIS mapping software. With my recent programming background, my primary strengths consist of working with HTML, CSS (front-end), Python or Java (back-end) and with MySQL. If anyone is interested on collaborating on a specific project, please let me know! Look forward to working and interacting with you all!
best,
-Marius

Cheers to all 🍻
Hi folks!
My name is Mike, I'm from S.E. Texas! Such a bunch of nice guys and ladies here! It seems like everyone is willing to help their fellow developers out! So my main focus is now PHP, Laravel, JS, CSS, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. I've written Java stuff (six years ago was the last native Android phone app I create), wrote some significant VBA stuff, and even further back - I wrote a few applications for scientific (lab) data analysis. While there are many subject matter experts here, I would NOT classify myself as one of them 😂. I do pretty well - and if I don't know an answer - there is always here (DEV), and of course Stack Overflow.
My current project has given me some artistic freedom and I am now exploring Laravel 8.x policies. I've looked at gates - but I think for as big as this application will be - that policies will be a better option. Even though Laravel has done an excellent job at documenting policies - I was wondering if anyone here has implemented them yet. If so - can you give me any suggestions?
So glad to meet all of you!
Mike

Hi wonderfull people of the internetz, 👋
My name is Saskia and I am a social & online marketig specialist that turned into a web dev when I realized that I was actually really good at it ... 😜 what started as a drunken "women are actually just put off by society and I could have become good at coding, if i had the f*** chance!" and ended with me in IT .
It tought myself so I know how hard it can be. And I think I want to do 2 things here: mentor and learn.
We'll se how changing from lurcking to becoming op will change my situation... but here we go ;)
Welcome to DEV!

Hello everyone.
I am a teacher and newfound lover of coding languages. I teach students the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript using the code.org curriculum. As I teach, I realize more of my passion for creating because coding lets you immediately see your work. I have always been good at analyzing and auditing with super attention to detail which makes coding and debugging a little easier and extremely rewarding.
I'm hopeful to be accepted to a 4-month intensive coding program. If not, I look to pursue my masters in software development.
Hi everyone! I'm Mel. I've decided to join dev.to because I want to share my Front End Developer path and get in touch with people around the world :)

Hi guys, i'm fairly new to coding. years ago i learned Java, but now i'm taking courses for web development, which includes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. once we finish our full-stack developer courses, we will move on to things like react and blockchain development. so wish me luck! I started on computers at 6yrs old in 1989 on a 386x processor running MS-DOS lol. while that did help me a lot with command line things like terminal and such, i'm having a great time learning the languages that will help me in the future, in order to be the provider i need to be for my wife and 3yr old daughter.

Just joined and looking to partake in discussions on all things new tech, start-ups, and Blockchain. I've just started my journey into Blockchain this year and excited to learn while making new connections. Currently based out of Canada, have a wife and 2 kids and I just turned 40 last year. Grew up in a household involved in 90s PC gaming industry. My father founded Amtex Software. I have been attempting to be an entrepreneur since 2005. Created and launched a board game called Antarctica Global WARming in 2006. Had some success. Got into app and website development and launched a few successful products while building a bit of a passive income base. Recently attempted to launch a training program for cleanliness standards and short-term rentals but did not work out. Looking to sharpen my skills in Blockchain to future proof my income. I've learned a lot from failure but hoping 2022 will be my year.
Wasssssup. I'm Brady and live in Nebraska, USA. I'm the only 34 year old you'll know that's had a 21 year career already. So, time for something new. Enter software development. Currently in boot camp and enjoying it. Hello to everyone and best of luck and perseverance to you.
