Cold Emails Nobody Answers Send a Sample Made for Their Product Instead of an Intro

帖子

"We got Brand X a 40% lift" reads like every other cold email, so it gets skipped.

What I'd send instead: find their longest-running ad in the Meta Ad Library, make one new ad in that shape for their product, and email the link.

Link in the first reply.

Your cold emails aren't bad. They're just the same as everyone else's.

You sent a few hundred cold emails this month. They said who you are, named two clients, quoted a result. What came back was out-of-office replies and one "remove me".

Agency owners on Reddit describe the same thing. One posted in r/agency that emails built on "we did this for brand X" and "we can increase X by X%" got no replies at all; rewriting it as a plain description of a two-person team got more (no deal yet, their own account). A commenter in the same thread: "email contains word 'ai' = delete."

The reason is simple. A result claim can't be checked from inside an email, and the reader has seen fifty identical ones. A sample can be checked in twenty seconds.

Who to send it to

Brands already paying for ads. Open the Meta Ad Library (https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/), search a category, filter to active ads, and look at three things:

  • How many ads are live. Six to twenty means they test.
  • "Started running on." An ad live for months is probably paying for itself. That's the structure you'll borrow.
  • The gap. All statics, no video. The same three videos for half a year.

One person per brand, usually the founder. Only as many per day as you can make good samples for.

What the sample is

One vertical video, 15 to 30 seconds, built on the skeleton of their longest-running ad (what the first two seconds do, how many beats, where the product shows up, how it ends) with a different reason to buy. Their own public product photos only.

The lines I wouldn't cross:

The email

Hi Dana, your "three products in one" ad has been running since March, so I'm guessing it's earning its keep. I made one more in the same shape with a different reason to buy (the travel size), using the photos on your product page: link. If it's useful, I'll make two more on whichever angle you'd test next. If it isn't, no reply needed.

No credentials paragraph. A small ask. No "AI" in the subject or opener, and no hiding it either: if they ask how it was made, tell them exactly.

US basics: CAN-SPAM wants your real identity, a postal address and a working opt-out honoured within 10 business days. Some EU countries, Germany especially, generally need prior consent even for B2B.

Follow-up and measuring

Three touches: the sample, a one-liner on day 3 or 4, something new and small on day 10, a polite close around day 20. Then stop.

Don't judge it on reply rate alone. Count sends, sample opens, real replies, calls held, paid starts, and hours per sample. Decide the stop rule before you begin.

We made the same switch ourselves: from 9 October 2026 our first cold email carries a link to a video made for a product in the recipient's category. Too early for results, so I'm not quoting any.

Making the samples faster

If making samples is the slow part, that's what we built AutoWhisper for. Keep prospects in their own workspace, paste their product page link (it pulls the product photos), and generate a UGC-style video, product demo or short story ad. Each one has a share link you can put in the email, and it shows whether it was opened. A full video is 52 credits; new accounts start with 65.
