Tracking Health Metrics

Lately I’ve been noticing my energy levels are all over the place, especially during longer coding sessions. Some days I’m super focused, other days I can barely concentrate after a couple of hours.

At first I thought it’s just burnout or bad sleep, but it feels a bit deeper than that. I started wondering if there’s a way to actually track what’s going on instead of just guessing like using real data, not just vibes.

I know a lot of devs track sleep, steps, maybe caffeine but has anyone gone further than that? Like blood work or more detailed health metrics to improve focus and consistency?

Curious if this is overkill or actually useful in the long run.

This resonates. The "just guessing" part is what gets people. By the time the pattern is obvious, it's been building for weeks.
I've found that even simple daily check-ins (just honest answers to "how am I actually doing today?") create a trail over time that's more useful than any wearable. Not because the data is more precise, but because it captures the thing wearables miss — the cognitive and emotional load that doesn't show up in steps or sleep. Worth trying before going full blood work rabbit hole.
