Google seems to have just announced the new Gmail. ICYMI I am an avid user. So, I went ahead and started trying out what's new.
How to Get New Gmail? 📧
Well, that's pretty simple. Log in to your Gmail account, and click that gear ⚙ icon at the top right corner. Then click the Try New Gmail
link in there :)
What's New and the New Gmail? 🔥
That's the burning questions, isn't it? Well, I for one found many new things in there but here's a summary of a few new features you might wanna read about — and use of course.
🆕 Fresh new UI — now you do a lot more without clicking a hundred times.⏲ Snooze feature that used to be in the mobile app is here on the web.
🎫 Expiring emails Send an email that expires after a set date. Confidential!
👉 Google's "Nudge" will now "nudge" you to follow up and respond.
👌 Smart Reply's has saved me time on mobile now on the web now as well.
📨 Only high-priority notification will get through to you on mobile. FTW!
🤖 Keep, Calendar, Tasks, and third party apps integrations are so much fun.
After 24 Hours of Using New Gmail? 👌
It's been almost 24 hours since I have been trying out the new Gmail and I am pretty impressed. While the new UI is a bit clunky, unfinished, and odd — I know it'll take me some time to get used to it. But, I'm definitely enjoying the speed of it all. Also, I use Google Keep and Calendar. Having it integrated so deeply with Gmail is going to make my life so much easier. That's a welcomed change.
In short, I'm all too excited. What about you?!
Here're a couple of images for the new Gmail.
Peace! ✌

Woah! New Gmail huh? Thanks for sharing the news!
I've been a user of Google's Inbox for a few years now, and it has similar/the same features that the new Gmail has. It's a pretty different UI though, and I can't say it's more or less helpful for organizing my email. I'm sure the standard Gmail is a much better fit for most people.
I'm an inbox user as well, the new gmail basically brings the cool features from inbox into the traditional gmail interface. Honestly I prefer the Inbox interface but I seem to be in the minority on that one, hoping they continue to support it in parrallel with gmail but I have a feeling this is them getting ready to kill it.
I'm pretty sure that new Gmail is much better than Inbox. Just look at Keep and Calendar integration and what comes next via 3rd party apps. 💯
Inbox has had Keep and Calendar integrations for long🙂🙂
Never knew that.
I was using it for a while, and I found one thing really annoying: where are reminders? You can set a reminder in Inbox, Calendar, Keep and by Assistant, and you can always see all of them in all places. But now we have Tasks which you can only see in a dedicated app and in Gmail. Nowhere in Calendar or Keep. Why not converting reminders to tasks, or adding reminders to tasks? I'm sure they will do it in the future, but nowadays the best integration comes from Reminders.
I've never used reminders are we on the same page whrre can I find them?!👋
I'm sorry, I forgot to answer your question. You won't see reminders on Gmail, that's the problem. You can set reminders if you add a date & time reminder in Google Keep notes, in Google Calendar (via add new reminder), talking to Google Assistant or if you use Inbox by Gmail. You can view any reminder in every one of that four places, doesn't matter where did you create it. The new Gmail tasks can only be seen on Gmail or on it's dedicated mobile app, so it's nice but less functional than the old option.
So, they added the ability to shrink the left sidebar and added the product integration on the right. In return for these, I get a huge DEAD space between my left sidebar and the inbox when the left sidebar is expanded. On top of that, there is way too much padding around the labels. Not sure I like that waste of screen real estate. In the attached screenshot, it shows the comparison of old vs new. Unfortunately, it also removes my calendar from the left side as well without a way (that I have seen so far) to move it back (also in the screenshot).
As a fix, one can use Stylish, Stylebot or some other similar Chrome extension to personalize the new Gmail look according to one's needs. On the plus side, it would be fun and help you make Gmail more like 'your' Gmail!
There's a much better calendar on your right now.
Nice tutorial! I am using Gmail for a long time. A few days ago, I have faced a log in error then I resolved this issue with the help of link emailcustomercareservice.com/optim...
It is very helpful. You have also explained this tutorial nicely. It would help the needy.
Going to try it out now. Thanks for sharing!
Sure thing 👌
I like all of the changes really. But it feels.... slow. A bit laggy and non-responsive to hover/click. Do the most simple test: go with your mouse over the first to the last email in your list. The hover effects lag behind 4-5 items to catch up the cursor and it skips 2-3 or more of the emails. It just feels slow and heavy. In a similar fashion, the left sidebar menu items lag behind a bit. But that's just me maybe... Can't go without noticing it. That said, everything else is fast and awesome ^
Great post 👍, I guess the expiration thing will only work by sending an email to another Gmail user ?
It’s hard to find knowledgeable people on this topic, but you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks.
